  • Patent number: 6438868
Abstract: A method for making shoes comprises the stages of molding a base of the shoe according to a preset curve, folding the edges of the base outwards, folding the flaps of an upper outwards and of joining the upper to the base at the outer edge of the base. The method may also comprise stages of applying a thermoformable element on a first surface of the base, at least at the outer edge of the base and of applying a sole element, on at least a portion of a second surface of the base. A shoe obtained in this way, therefore, comprises a base, molded according to a preset curve and an upper attached to the base at the outer edge of the base by joining the flaps of the upper and the edges of the base which are folded outwards.

  • Patent number: 6219942
Abstract: An article of footwear comprises a shoe in which the upper and base define a first total internal volume; molding of a standard inner sole made of a material which may be plastically thermoformed using a form, the inner sole having a second volume less than the first volume and, when inserted in a shoe, leaving a free volume, smaller than the total volume, inside the shoe; insertion of the standard inner sole in the shoe and fixing in place, so as to create a shoe-inner sole assembly in which, between the base and standard inner sole there is at least one space with an empty volume substantially corresponding to the difference between the first volume and the second volume; heating of the shoe-inner sole assembly made in this way to the preset temperature necessary for the thermoforming of the inner sole; insertion of a foot in the shoe, so as to shape the standard inner sole in the areas around the space according to the features of the sole of the foot.

  • Patent number: 4943329
Abstract: A method for manufacturing ties consisting of interwoven tapes (101, 201). The single tie portions (C1, C2, C3) are cut out from a piece (7) of fabric (1) of interwoven warp and weft tapes (101, 201). This piece of fabric (1) may be bonded by means of a hot-melt adhesive to a base web (4) made of fabric or plastic material foil. Before or after the tie portions (C1, C2, C3) have been cut out, they are peripherally provided with selvedge seams (9) at least along the tie portion cutting lines (8).
