  • Patent number: 8882018
Abstract: A retainer for controlling the payout of wire from a wire container is described. The retainer has at least three segments. Each segment is connected to the adjacent segment so as to allow a relative movement of adjacent segments with respect to each other. The entirety of the segments form a contact surface adapted for contacting the wire contained in the wire container. Further, a wire container is described having a reception space for a wire coil, a wire coil arranged in the reception space, with the wire forming an annular end face of the wire coil from which the wire is withdrawn from the wire container, and a retainer for controlling the payout of wire from a wire container.

  • Patent number: 8453960
Abstract: A wire guiding liner, in particular welding wire liner, has a plurality of roll holders which are displaceable with respect to each other, each roll holder holding a plurality of rolls. The angular displaceability of a roll holder with respect to the adjacent roll holder is limited such that when the wire is fed through the liner, it always touches exclusively on the rolls even when the liner is bent to its maximum curve, such that the wire while being inserted always hits the next roll at an angle that will push it towards and maintain it guided at the center of the liner.

  • Patent number: 8389901
Abstract: A welding wire guiding liner has a plurality of guiding bodies connected to each other, each of the guiding bodies containing a plurality of rolling elements defining a guiding channel for the welding wire. Each guiding body has a ring which is coaxial with the guiding channel and is freely rotatable in a peripheral direction on the body. The ring is connected to the adjacent guiding body by means of a swivel joint which allows the adjacent guiding body to swivel around a swivel axis with respect to the guiding body provided with the ring.

  • Patent number: 8127923
Abstract: A container for accommodating a welding wire coil has a metal frame which defines an accommodation space for the welding wire coil. The metal frame has a bottom portion on which the welding wire coil is to be placed, and a side structure intended to laterally support the welding wire coil. The bottom portion of the metal frame is formed from four metal bars arranged so as to form a grid, and the side structure of the metal frame is formed by eight metal tubes, each of which is connected to one of the ends of the metal bars. The container further has a cardboard wall structure covering the outside of the side structure of the metal frame and having an octagonal shape in cross-section, and a cardboard floor structure covering the outside of the bottom portion of the metal frame. Furthermore, supporting feet are provided which are bolted to the metal frame and which clamp the cardboard floor structure to the bottom portion of the metal frame.

  • Publication number: 20110174792
Abstract: A low wire level alarm comprises a signal element and a wire level detection element. The wire level detection element is adapted for detecting the level of welding wire contained in a welding wire bulk pack, and the signal element is adapted for giving an operator a visual and/or acoustic signal on the level of welding wire contained in the bulk pack. In a welding wire bulk pack having a base, side walls and a coil of welding wire placed inside the side walls, a retainer is arranged on top of the welding wire coil so as to descend in the bulk pack when the level of welding wire inside the pack decreases. A low wire level alarm system is used for signaling to an operator that the level of welding wire remaining in the bulk pack has fallen below a predetermined threshold.
