    Abstract: The surface of stone materials, of tiles, of cement mixes and articles and structures manufactured therefrom are protected against atmospheric and polluting agents by superficially applying a protecting material consisting of a vinylidene fluoride polymer or copolymer comprising 55-100% by moles of vinylidene fluoride, 0-5% by moles of propene hexafluoride and 0-30% by moles of tetrafluoroethylene. Such polymers or copolymers are applied to the surface to be protected in the form of a solution in volatile solvents.
