  • Publication number: 20190390460
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a chair for supporting rebars above a surface in a reinforced concrete structure. The chair comprises a support structure which includes a rebar supporting area for receiving the rebars, a first leg and a second leg. The chair further comprises first and second base members which are adapted to engage with the first and the second leg ends. Therefore, when the first leg end and the second leg end are securely engaged with respectively the first base member and the second base member, the support structure is supported above the surface by the first base member and the second base member such as to receive rebars. Accordingly, concrete may be poured around the chairs positioned on the surface and further around the rebars that are supported by them.

  • Patent number: 10329768
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a slab bolster upper for supporting rebars in a reinforced concrete structure. The slab bolster upper comprises an elongated base defining a lower surface, an upper surface for supporting the rebars, a first edge and a second edge opposite the first edge, voids formed through the elongated base to facilitate free flow of concrete therethrough and around the elongated base, a first connexion integrally formed about the first edge of the elongated base and a second connexion integrally formed about the second edge of the elongated base. The first and second connexions are configured to securely engage with corresponding first and second connexions of adjacent slab bolster uppers for interconnecting a plurality of slab bolster uppers together.

  • Publication number: 20190136534
Abstract: A rebar support system used in the reinforcement of concrete structures is disclosed, comprising a rebar support tower and a rebar support base, individually capable of holding rebar members at a predefined height within a range of possible heights, the two further capable of acting together in tower-base duplex fashion in the formation of multilevel rebar grids. The rebar tower has four legs between which there are defined two intersecting passages, the legs being open-ended at the bottom and forming bidirectional arches at the top of said intersecting passages, said rebar tower further having a saddle foil cation at its apex. The rebar tower provides a tapered and angled foot profile at the bottom of each leg to minimize the area of contact when used with a concrete form, thereby reducing rebar support footprints after form removal.

  • Patent number: 7726090
Abstract: A wheel spacer is provided for spacing a reinforcing rod for a cementitious structure away from an object during fabrication of the structure. The spacer consists of two substantially semicircular sections configured for connection together with the rod abuttingly retained in saddles generally situated at the center of the sections when connected together in an assembled configuration for the spacer. Each section has, on an inner wall thereof in which the saddles are situated, primary inserting arms for insertion into apertures for locking engagement with teeth on the inserting arms with teeth on receiving arms of the other section. Retaining arms having guide walls further facilitate retention of the rod and guiding thereof towards the saddles while the spacer is placed in the assembled configuration.

  • Publication number: 20100122510
Abstract: A cage spacer for spacing a reinforcement structure apart at a predefined distance from a forming surface of a forming structure for a cementitious structure during formation of the cementitious structure therein has a bracket and a roller wheel, both constructed of a plastic material. The bracket has an attachment face and a generally opposed roller face and is connectable to the reinforcement structure with the attachment face abutting thereagainst. The roller wheel is rotatably and removably mounted in the bracket with an outer circumferential surface thereof extending from within the bracket partially beyond the roller face. The roller wheel is sized and positioned relative the attachment face for abutting and rolling of the outer circumferential surface against the forming surface at the predefined distance from the reinforcement structure, thereby spacing the reinforcement structure apart from the forming surface at the predefined distance.

  • Patent number: 6354054
Abstract: This rebar chair has a body with four legs between which there are defined two intersecting passages for simultaneously receiving the intersecting portions of two rebars normal to each other. The rebars are suspended by a fastening wire or supported by an auxiliary chair below said body. The legs forming one of the passages have a uniform spacing and are adapted to closely straddle the rebar extending through the same. The legs of the second passage flare downwardly so that their spacing progressively increases from the body to the free ends from a spacing smaller than to a spacing greater than the uniform spacing between the legs of the first passage. The chair is positively located and stabilized by the intersecting rebars. A saddle is formed on the top of the body for simultaneously supporting a third rebar.
