  • Publication number: 20200016730
Abstract: A tool for insertion and extraction of temporary fasteners that enables by a plurality of retractable elements, an automatic engagement of the tool on the head of the temporary fastener, without the need for any rotation of the tool with regard to the head, and by lockable grasping units, operated internally locking elements, a high retention and extraction force is achieved, favouring the elimination of the risk of the clamp detaching itself from the tool, enabling control of the entire insertion and extraction process of temporary fasteners. Rapid, effective automation of the use and procedure of the temporary fasteners can be achieved, improving economic profitability and the reliability of their use.

  • Publication number: 20190071550
Abstract: A foaming process for converting fibrous material into a cellular foam structure includes mixing fibrous material and a solvent-based binding agent to form a mixture; saturating the mixture with a pressurized gas to form a gas-saturated mixture; expanding the gas-saturated mixture by reducing the pressure of the pressurized gas to form an expanded mixture with voids in the fibrous material; and curing the expanded mixture to set the fibrous material and drive off the solvent to provide a stable network of fibrous material having cushioning properties.

  • Patent number: 9890325
Abstract: A method of monitoring a location of a nanoparticle within a material is described herein. The method includes the steps of providing at least one nanoclay particle, attaching a fluorescent tag to the at least one nanoclay particle, and determining a fluorescence of the fluorescent-labeled nanoclay particle. The method also includes forming the material including the at least one fluorescent-labeled nanoclay particle, depositing the material in an aqueous solution, and detecting a movement of the fluorescent-labeled nanoclay particle from the material to the aqueous solution.

  • Patent number: 9682402
Abstract: An apparatus for selectively restricting deposition of a spray coating on a substrate surface includes at least one substrate-contacting stabilizer with a lower stabilizer surface which is selectively attachable to the substrate surface. A restrictor fin has a fin body having longitudinally separated upper and lower fin surfaces. An inner fin edge is connected to an inner stabilizer edge with an obtuse angle formed therebetween when viewed in a lateral-longitudinal plane. A plurality of transversely oriented fin apertures extend through the fin body. Each laterally adjacent pair of fin apertures defines a transversely oriented restrictor bar from the fin body interposed laterally therebetween. The fin apertures permit at least a portion of the spray coating to pass substantially longitudinally therethrough toward the substrate surface. The restrictor bars selectively prevent passage of at least a portion of the spray coating toward the substrate surface.

  • Publication number: 20170121046
Abstract: In one general aspect, a system for aseptically filling a tray of pharmaceutical containers with a pharmaceutical product is disclosed, which consists of an aseptic chamber, one or more articulated arms within the chamber, a sensor aseptically disposed with respect to the chamber, and a controller. The controller determines the locations of openings of the containers based on the image information from the sensor, and automatically guides one of the arms to fill the containers with the product. In order to obtain suitable contrast for accurately identifying the openings, an illuminator illuminates the tray with substantially collimated light. The sensor images the tray and containers using collimated light reflected from a reflective surface such as a retroreflector under the tray. To this end, the sensor may be disposed at a large enough distance from the retroreflector to collect largely the retroreflected light, or the sensor may employ a telecentric lens or a Fresnel lens.

  • Patent number: 9204195
Abstract: Systems and methods for use in games and entertainment systems are provided. The present system produces items for capture on one or more user devices that are triggered by live events. As an example, live events include, but are not limited to sporting events (e.g., football games, basketball games, rounds of golf, tennis matches), political debates, television shows, dramas, and other viewable events. The user of the user device is challenged to capture the correct item at the right moment. If the capture is successful, the user receives a reward.

  • Publication number: 20150297872
Abstract: A medical apparatus includes a catheter having an inflatable balloon at its distal end. The balloon defines at least two spaced larger diameter areas defining a valley therebetween and is adapted to be inserted in a non-inflated condition into a cavity of the human body such as the rectum, and when inflated, is adapted to cradle an organ such as the prostate located in a different body cavity. The balloon is symmetric about an axis defined by the catheter so that positioning issues are limited to axial positioning rather than rotational positioning. Because of the valley in the balloon, when the balloon is inflated, only a limited portion of the rectum is necessarily pushed into contact with the prostate, and thus, the radiation toxicity to the rectum is limited. Methods utilizing the medical apparatus are disclosed.
