Patent number: 7901260Abstract: A swimming fin comprising a blade extending from a shoe open at its rear side, and a rear heel strap connected to the sides of the shoe by at least one buckle, the buckle having a base plate integral with the shoe. A buckle arm is joined with the strap so as to allow adjustment of the strap's tension, an intermediate lever being connected pivotally to the base plate and the arm. A reversible attachment member is also provided for connecting the intermediate lever to the base plate to achieve closure of the buckle. Between the intermediate lever and the base plate, a disengageable articulation member is provided for reciprocal engagement between them, a pivotal connection, and, at the same time, for allowing their separation in a direction opposite to that of tensioning the strap. In this manner, the intermediate lever may be separated from the base plate following release of the attachment member, and disconnection of the disengageable articulation member.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2009Date of Patent: March 8, 2011Assignee: Cressi-Sub S.p.A.Inventor: Carlos Godoy

Publication number: 20080074607Abstract: A scuba diving mask with corrective lenses comprising a frame with a pair of rings connected by a bridge, each of the rings having an internal flange on which the lip of a flexible skirt, a corresponding lens and a lens-retaining collar rest. The collar is attached with a snap action to the corresponding ring. A seat is formed in the bridge substantially in the lying plane of the lenses and extending laterally to the upper internal portion of the two rings. The seat contains a locking plate slidable between two opposite end stroke positions, a locking end position and a release end position respectively, when the locking plate is in the locking position the lateral sides of the locking plate extend inside the rings and are engaged in corresponding notches provided in the upper internal rim of the lens-retaining collars.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 16, 2007Publication date: March 27, 2008Inventor: Carlos Godoy

Publication number: 20080019778Abstract: A device for releasably connecting a weight pouch to a pocket of a scuba diving jacket. The device comprises: a flat sheath integrally connected to the scuba diving jacket; a latch member being attached to the weight pouch and having arms that are elastically deformable in the plane of the sheath and have sides tapered relative to the longitudinal plane of symmetry of the sheath to produce a snap closure when the latch member is inserted in the sheath. An inward-projecting abutment inside the sheath engages the ends of the arms when the device is closed, thereby preventing the latch member from sliding out of the sheath. A member is provided for bending the arms of the latch member so as to release them from the position where they abut the abutment in the sheath and enable the device to be opened.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 9, 2007Publication date: January 24, 2008Inventor: Carlos Godoy

Patent number: 7275536Abstract: A device is disclosed for adjusting the length of a strap on a mask for aquatic activities. The mask comprises a frame for supporting one or more lenses and a plurality of fork-shaped portions extending from either side of the frame. Each portion contains a pivot about which a portion of a strap end is wrapped, the portion having a plurality of stop ribs on one side. The adjustment device comprises a stop lever housed in each portion and a tooth extending from the lever for engaging one of the ribs. The lever has a substantially U-shaped member and a tongue extending from the base of the member such that the tongue is coplanar with and cantilevered in the lever. On a side opposite the tooth, a head extends from the tongue, against which a wedge-shaped portion of a button abuts, sliding with respect to the fork-shaped portion on a plane generally parallel to the U-shaped member.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 2004Date of Patent: October 2, 2007Assignee: Cressi-Sub S.p.A.Inventor: Carlos Godoy

Publication number: 20070077832Abstract: A swimming fin comprising a blade extending from a shoe open at its rear side and with a rear heel strap connected at the sides of the shoe by at least one buckle, said buckle comprising a base plate integral with the shoe, a buckle arm connected to the strap so as to allow adjustment of its tension and an intermediate lever connected pivotally to the base plate and to the arm, reversible attachment means also being provided for connecting the intermediate lever to the base plate to achieve closure of the buckle. Between the intermediate lever and the base plate disengageable articulation means are provided, for achieving reciprocal engaging between them and a pivotal connection and, at the same time, allowing their separation in the direction opposite to that of tensioning of the strap. In this way, the intermediate lever can be separated from the base plate following release of the attachment means and disconnection of the disengageable articulation means.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2006Publication date: April 5, 2007Inventor: Carlos Godoy
