  • Publication number: 20030024186
Abstract: A postensed celled concrete runway for take off and landing of aircraft is described, also for racetracks, freeways and highways, characterized by a celled structure wherein each cell contains: nervures, a cell base and a cell cover that forms the surface of runway. A core composed of expanded polystyrene is located between the nervures, base and cover, such that the volume weight of the cells is less than subsoil density. The celled structure also contains a leveling means that acts over cells of the celled structure to allow the cells to move in an upward and downward direction so that the runway surface can be leveled when there are sunken areas on the ground.

  • Patent number: 6504936
Abstract: The present invention is an amplifier signal distribution module ideally suited for use in public announcement systems, concerts, and live sound reinforcement. This present invention will be used with conventional components of an audio system. In use, the present invention will receive a combined signal from a signal processor and transmit the signal to a cross-over. The cross-over will transmit the signal to amplifiers which will send the signal back to the present invention. The signal is re-distributed to a final output source, such as speakers. Each input, output, and input/out sections of the present invention includes various sets of connectors for accepting any conventional form used with the conventional components. Such an arrangement will drastically reduce the time and cabling generally associated in the process of setting up audio system for live audio performance.

  • Patent number: 6338420
Abstract: A plastic fuel tank including a hollow plastic tank body and a variable length plastic strut in the hollow tank body. A pair of flat plastic sheets are vacuum formed at a forming temperature in upper and lower mold cavities to the shape of upper and lower plastic shells. The plastic strut includes an upper foot, a lower foot, and a coupling means operable to support the upper foot on the lower foot for back and forth linear translation against a controlled resistance. With the mold cavities separated, the plastic strut is interposed between the upper and lower shells. The mold cavities are closed to form the hollow tank body by fusion bonding the upper and lower shells at respective attachment flanges on each. When the tank body thereafter cures and shrinks, the plastic strut is squeezed between the upper and lower shells against the controlled resistance of the coupling means to fusion bond the upper and lower feet of the strut to the shells.

  • Patent number: 4850866
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for use by dentists in determining the actual length of a root canal based upon a single x-ray picture. The method involves inserting a probe a known distance partially into the root canal before taking the x-ray picture. The picture is then analyzed to compare the visually observed, apparent lengths of the root canal and probe with the known length of the probe. The actual length of the root canal is determined by direct arithmetic proportion based upon the observed apparent lengths. The apparatus facilitates measurement of said observed apparent lengths utilizing manipulating knobs and an illuminated scale resembling a thermometer scale.
