  • Patent number: 10883762
Abstract: The invention provides an efficient equipment that can be easily implemented to dry materials in a continuous manufacturing line of pharmaceutical products without the need of external air or HEPA exhaust filter cartridges. A continuous granulo-dryer for the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products via wet granulation includes a recirculation system that allows to continuously recirculate the air used to dry the materials back into the granulo-dryer. Control systems and sensors are provided to promote a high percentage (up to 98%) of product monitored, an efficient heat and mass transfer between the air and the product avoiding the segregation of the materials and preserving the homogeneity of the Active Principal Ingredient (API).

  • Publication number: 20090186859
Abstract: Disclosed are compounds that release nitric oxide, e.g., a compound of Formula (I) wherein R1-10, X, and n are as described herein, which are NSAID derivatives comprising a diazeniumdiolate moiety N2O2?. The compounds are chemopreventive agents with gastric-sparing, analgesic, cardioprotective, and/or anti-inflammatory properties. Also disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of the invention and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Also disclosed is a method of preventing or treating cancer or treating inflammation or an inflammation-related condition in a mammal comprising administering an effective amount of a compound of the invention to the mammal.

  • Publication number: 20080214646
Abstract: This invention provides a prodrug that help arthritis patients without increasing cardiovascular and gastrointestinal risk. A novel group of hybrid nitric oxide-releasing non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NO-NSAIDs), moiety attached via a one -carbon methylene spacer to the carboxylic acid group of the traditional NSAIDs aspirin, ibuprofen and indomethacin were synthesized. The ester prodrugs showed equipotent anti-inflammatory activities in vivo to that of the parent aspirin, ibuprofen and indomethacin. The simultaneous release of parent drug and nitric oxide from the NO- prodrugs constitutes a potentially beneficial property for the prophylactic prevention of thrombus formation and adverse cardiovascular events such as stroke and myocardial infarction. Data acquired in an in vivo ulcer index (UI) assay showed that this group of ester prodrugs in which no lesions were observed when compared to the parent drugs at equivalent doses.

  • Publication number: 20050070638
Abstract: A temporary aqueous aerosol paint composition comprising an aqueous paint component, including an aqueous solvent, and an aqueous propellant component. At least one embodiment of the temporary aerosol paint composition includes an amount of water, and more particularly, an amount of filtered water, as the aqueous solvent. In addition, the temporary aerosol paint composition may include an amount of an aqueous dimethyl ether compound as the aqueous propellant component. The temporary aerosol paint composition is formulated to minimize and/or eliminate the hazards presented by the various volatile and non-volatile organic compounds present in known aerosol paint compositions, by eliminating or minimizing the inclusion of such organic compounds. Any one of a number of pigment compounds may be utilized in the temporary aqueous aerosol paint composition, including flourescent colored pigment compounds, thereby permitting use in a variety of applications.

  • Patent number: 5515151
Abstract: A sheet transport apparatus for transporting an image carrying sheet into a fusing apparatus without image disturbances from a sheet motion opposing force. The sheet transport apparatus includes a baffle plate positioned along a line of sheet movement into the fusing apparatus, and active means for moving the image carrying sheet over and towards the baffle plate. The sheet transport apparatus also includes a generally triangular member having a flat base positioned on the baffle plate, and an upstream flank as well as a downstream flank forming an apex thereof for creating a convex buckle in the image carrying sheet prior to the image carrying sheet being subjected to a sheet motion opposing force from contact with the fusing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5504562
Abstract: An electrostatographic reproduction machine including a cover assembly for holding an original document onto a glass platen, and for dissipating heat build up from the top of the glass platen. The cover assembly includes a heat conductive white film layer for contacting the original document, and a layer of foam with air flow passages therethrough mounted over the white film layer. The cover assembly also includes a rigid frame having a top panel including air flow openings formed therethrough, mounted over the layer of foam, for dissipating heat from the layer of foam and white film layer to the ambient.
