Abstract: Systems and methods for receiver-controlled data distribution are provided. In some embodiments, a client device requests and receives a session locator code. This session locator code is then used by a set of users of other client devices in the session to exchange data objects or documents. In some embodiments, the session locator code is invalidated when no client devices are using the session locator code to share data. In some embodiments, permanent locator codes may be used. A permanent locator code may allow a user to make data available whether or not any client devices are currently using the permanent locator code to access the data.
