  • Patent number: 4381897
Abstract: An installation for transporting fine-grained material to a consumer using two alternately filled and emptied pneumatic pressure vessels (3, 4) together with an outlet valve (12, 12') and a control nozzle (15, 15') in the material discharge pipe of each of the two pressure vessels. The control nozzles (15, 15') are connected to an air distributor (18) through which the control nozzle receives a reduced amount of compressed air when the material discharge pipe is shut off. With an installation such as this, a continuous and exactly metered delivery of fine-grained material is obtained without any mechanically moved parts in the delivery path and with a low rate of flow in the delivery pipe.

  • Patent number: 4215101
Abstract: A method of performing a treatment of a dust cloud includes the successive steps of generating the dust cloud from a gas and from solid particles, passing the dust cloud through a reaction zone, separating the dust cloud into its components in a separator, and reintroducing at least one part of at least one component into the dust cloud. There is further formed a solids column into which fresh or recirculated solid particles are introduced. The solids column which seals the gas used for generating the dust cloud from the separator, is height-adjustable for controlling the concentration of solids in the dust cloud formed from the solid particles constituting the solids column.

  • Patent number: 4067623
Abstract: There are two superimposed pressure vessels, the upper of which has a closable material inlet connected to a source of fine material and has a lower end in the form of a cone with a bottom outlet. The lower pressure vessel has a material inlet which is connected through a valve to the bottom outlet of said cone, and has a pneumatic feed conduit connected to its lower portion as a material outlet. A conduit is connected to both vessels for equalizing the pressure therein after the inlet of the upper vessel has been closed and before said valve is opened. A plurality of nozzles are uniformly distributed throughout said cone and are connected to a source of gas under pressure for aerating material in said cone, each of said nozzles having an inside diameter between 0.2 and 0.6 mm.
