  • Patent number: 6561057
Abstract: An adjusting device designed to adjust the length of control cables made up of two half-cables which are connected by a linking device having two exterior linking bodies and two interior linking bodies. The adjusting device includes a coaxially arranged stem provided with retaining teeth which forms one of the exterior linking bodies, a sheath terminal body, a fixing jacket and a fixing ring provided with retaining teeth. Upon rotation of the fixing jacket and fixing ring, a locking assembly is disengaged and the length of the cable may be adjusted. The adjusting device may also include a thrust sleeve and a thrust spring designed so that the adjusting device is permanently subjected to a force biased to reduce its length when unlocked.

  • Patent number: 6263756
Abstract: This terminal comprises a tubular portion (25) on which are coaxially arranged a fixing body (20) attached to the tubular portion (25) designed to receive a stem (12) fixed to one end (10) of steel cable (2) of a control cable (1), a fixing spring (21) and a closure body (19) which, driven by the spring (21), has rotation capacity between two positions, opening position and fixing position. The fixing body (20) and the stem (12) have respective screw-threaded retaining sections (47, 16), and the terminal (17) has a trigger (48) with capacity for sliding between two positions, an opening position and a locking position. Applicable to the automobile industry.

  • Patent number: 6240804
Abstract: This mechanism includes a fixing device (5) comprising a fixing body (36) which meshes with toothing (34) of the support (1) and a helical fixing spring (37); a self-regulating device (3) comprising a traction body (11) to which is fixed the end of the steel cable (28) which links with the brake callipers or shoes attached to the mechanism, a spiral traction spring (12) and a helical locking spring (13), mounted coaxially to each other and so designed that, when the brake lever (2) is in the rest position, the spiral spring (12) subjects the cable (28) to traction, permanently adjusting the length of its sheathed portion; and a self-adjusting device (4) of the initial length of the cable (28) which includes a removable pin (32).

  • Patent number: 6119544
Abstract: A control cable comprises first and second half cables connectable together by a linking device. The first and second half cables respectively include first and second sheaths and first and second inner cables. The linking device comprises male and female interior and exterior linking bodies respectively joined to the first and second inner cables and sheaths. The male interior and exterior linking bodies are at least partially insertable in the female interior and exterior linking bodies, respectively, and each has a groove. The interior and exterior linking bodies are locked together by respective interior and exterior locking elements.

  • Patent number: 5865558
Abstract: A ball and socket joint body for terminals of control cables has a transverse passage with respect to the coupling of the cable with the terminal which forms two reciprocally opposed inlet mouths of freely choosable alternative use, and a central chamber for housing a ball with elastically deformable retaining and seat structure. The retaining and seat structure can comprise a sleeve provided with perimetral projections, or a first shock-absorbing sleeve and a second sleeve provided with coplanar sectoral projections or two "U"-shaped springs or a sleeve and two "U" shaped springs which traverse it.

  • Patent number: 5829906
Abstract: This mechanism is applicable to terminals (1) of thrust-traction control cables formed by an articulating body (6) designed to receive and retain an articulating extension (12) of an actuating control, they being arranged orthogonally with respect to each other and being capable of rotation. The articulating body (6) is single-piece and has a housing (11) with two equal inlet mouths (A1, B1) of freely choosable alternative use situated one on either side. In the housing (11) there are retaining means formed by axial grooves (17) from the bottom (19) of which there emerge respective retaining tabs (18) which, capable of rotation in both directions, are designed so that the coupling force (F) is of lower intensity than the uncoupling force (F').
