Patent number: 12059953Abstract: A composite tank for a reusable launch vehicle comprises a composite wall, having a first coefficient of thermal expansion. The composite wall comprises a first end, a second end, a central axis, which passes through the first end and through the second end, and a cylindrical interior surface. The composite tank also comprises slosh baffles, formed from a second material, having a second coefficient of thermal expansion that is different from the first coefficient of thermal expansion. Each of the slosh baffles is attached to the cylindrical interior surface of the composite wall. Each of the slosh baffles is annular and is separated from the cylindrical interior surface of the composite wall by a radial gap, selected, in part, based on a difference between the first coefficient of thermal expansion and the second coefficient of thermal expansion. The radial gap is configured to change responsive to changes in temperature of the composite tank.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 2021Date of Patent: August 13, 2024Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: Jonathan David Embler, John Matthew Nichols, Glenn William Torres, Jacob Ryan Szczudlak, William Preston Keith, Tin Anh Luu, Morgan Ashley Lewis, Keith Charles Kreutztrager, Jonathan Edward Toomey, Juan Carlos Guzman

Publication number: 20210030865Abstract: In a first aspect, the present invention relates to a method for determining the responsiveness of an individual to vaccination, like viral vaccination or for the determination of viral vaccine efficacy in an individual as well as a method for the stratification of the vaccination regimen, e.g. viral vaccination, in an individual based on determining the level or the amount of at least one of IL-8 or IL-18 in a sample; said sample is obtained from an individual at least once before or at least once after vaccination. The method allows to determine the vaccination regimen with the vaccine, in particular, a virus vaccine, like an influenza virus vaccine whereby when a low level of at least one of IL-8 and/or IL-18 is determined, said low level is indicative for a personalized vaccine strategy. In a further aspect, the use of at least one of IL-8 or IL-18 as a predictive marker for vaccine efficacy or immune protection by vaccination is provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 20, 2019Publication date: February 4, 2021Inventors: Carlos A.
