  • Publication number: 20240150968
Abstract: A method for obtaining a reinforced packaging paper by applying a residual fluid from the pre-treatment of lignocellulose waste with a water-alcohol mix to the packaging paper and the subsequent drying thereof. The residual fluid has a solid fraction in suspension of 1-70% by weight/volume relative to the total, with lignin and lignin-carbohydrate complexes; and a liquid fraction of 30-99% by weight/volume relative to the total, containing between 0.04 and 2.07 g/L glucose, between 0.31 and 14.57 g/L xylose, between 0.09 and 3.46 g/L arabinose, between 0.083 and 12.40 g/L acetic acid, and between 0.004 and 8.73 g/L furfural. The method improves the efficiency of the cellulose pulp residual fluids in the process of reinforcing a packaging paper, and is suitable for all types of raw cardboard or paper.

  • Patent number: 11979243
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for supporting a two-stage device-to-device (D2D) discovery using a D2D interworking function (IWF). A D2D IWF component may be configured to perform mapping between an application running on an application server and a third generation partnership project (3GPP) network, and provide a set of application programming interfaces (APIs) to allow discovery to be provided as a service to D2D applications. An application identifier may be mapped to a 3GPP identifier. Further, a method and apparatus are described for performing client-server discovery. A first wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may be configured for a listen-only operation, and a second WTRU may be configured to transmit beacons. The first and second WTRUs may perform a radio access network (RAN) discovery procedure at an access stratum (AS) layer. A method and apparatus for performing charging for D2D service using a D2D IWF are also described.

  • Patent number: 11961272
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for using a surfel map to generate long range localization. One of the methods includes obtaining, for a particular location of a vehicle having a camera and a detection sensor, surfel data including a plurality of surfels. Each surfel in the surfel data has a respective location and corresponds to a different respective detected surface in an environment. Image data captured by the camera is obtained. It is determined that a region of interest for detecting objects for a vehicle planning process is outside a detectable region for the detection sensor. In response, it is determined that the image data for the region of interest matches surfel color data for the surfels corresponding to the region of interest. In response, the vehicle planning process is performed with the region of interest designated as having no unexpected objects.

  • Publication number: 20240112579
Abstract: A parking facility access management system having a sensing device communicatively connected to the internet and to a mechanism for providing access to a parking facility. A mobile device is communicatively connected to the sensing device while in proximity to the sensing device, and also communicatively connected to the internet while not in proximity to the sensing device. As the mobile device enters proximity to the sensing device, the mobile device communicates exclusively with the sensing device and not the internet. In some embodiments, as the mobile device enters proximity to the sensing device, the mobile device sends a signal to the sensing device to alert the mechanism for providing access to provide access to the parking facility.

  • Patent number: 11798751
Abstract: A metal contact of a residential circuit breaker with ordered ceramic microparticles is provided. The metal contact comprises an electrical contact material comprising a metal alloy and ceramic particles to form a metal matrix composite material. Both materials the metal alloy and the ceramic particles are present together as a metal compound but without forming an alloy. The metal compound is a matrix and reinforcement being the ceramic particles such that first the ceramic particles has a sintering step to get a homogeneous preform for the metal compound being porous with a controlled size obtained by pressing a particle size of about few micrometers of the ceramic particles and then a liquid metal infiltration step to provide a homogenous distribution of the metal alloy and the ceramic particles in a three-dimensional open porous arrangement and the homogenous distribution results in ordered microstructures.

  • Publication number: 20230334776
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for sensor calibration with environment map. In some implementations, a three-dimensional surfel representation of a real-world environment is obtained. One or more surfels of the surfel representation having a particular classification of the different classifications are selected. Input sensor data from one or more sensors installed on an autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle are received. The input sensor data is compared to the surfel representation to identify one or more differences between the observation and the surfel representation. At least one sensor of the one or more sensors is calibrated using the one or more differences between the observation and the surfel representation.

  • Patent number: 11755947
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for offline evaluation of machine learning models with noise reduction are disclosed. A trigger computation system generates a plurality of experimental requests. The experimental requests do not represent unmodified requests received from clients in a production environment. At least one parameter value varies for individual ones of the experimental requests. The trigger computation system provides the experimental requests to a first machine learning model and a second machine learning model. The first machine learning model and the second machine learning model produce a set of results based at least in part on the experimental requests. The trigger computation system determines a reduced set of results for which the first machine learning model and the second machine learning model differ. An evaluation of the first machine learning model or the second machine learning model is performed using the reduced set of results.
