Abstract: In a filter arrangement for filtering the fuel, of an internal combustion engine including a housing accommodating a filter element and having at the bottom thereof a collection space for collecting water removed from the fuel, a drain passage extends from the collection space at an angle with respect to a vertical line and a vent channel is disposed in the filter housing wall and extends to the drain passage permitting air to enter when water is drained from the collection space upon opening a drain valve which is disposed in the drain passage.
