  • Patent number: 9544802
Abstract: A system and methods for determining whether to participate in reception reporting procedures for an eMBMS service. Multiple applications on a receiver device can consume the same file download or streaming eMBMS service, and can have conflicting opt in/opt out settings for reporting in middleware. Algorithms are provided that take into account the different opt statuses of applications, and allow middleware components to determine whether to log reception metrics for a service and/or whether a reception report should be uploaded after a service session of the service.

  • Patent number: 9485535
Abstract: Systems, apparatus and methods provide an automatic capability for generating interactivity event applications for execution on receiver devices within a broadcast network based upon interactivity event application data, information and sequence logic. Interactivity event content providers may provide to a broadcast network interactivity event application data, event metadata information and sequence logic a broadcast network. Interactivity resources for interactivity sequences associated with one or more real-time channels are broadcast over the broadcast network such that the resources share a file data flow, or such that they can be carried on separate file data flows. File data flow identifiers and overhead flow identifiers are indicated in the Service SI. Interactivity signaling messages for interactivity sequences associated with one or more real times channels are broadcast on auxiliary flows.

  • Patent number: 9485108
Abstract: Embodiments provide bandwidth efficient mechanisms for delivering data to a receiver device via a wireless broadcast network such that data may be assembled in the receiver device for use by a local application. In the various embodiments, data files may be broadcast as content elements via the broadcast network using the FLUTE protocol during a FLUTE session. In an embodiment, the content elements may be broadcast according to a broadcast schedule that may identify a time at which the content elements will be broadcast and the broadcast schedule may be communicated in a file delivery table (FDT) transmitted during a FLUTE session.

  • Patent number: 9451401
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus receives a plurality of data sets in a first FLUTE session. Each data set of the data sets includes an identifier and a target area associated with a broadcast. The apparatus receives a broadcast and an identifier associated with the broadcast in a second FLUTE session. The apparatus determines the target area associated with the received broadcast based on the identifier received with the received broadcast. The apparatus determines whether to keep the received broadcast based on whether a criterion associated with the target area is satisfied.

  • Patent number: 9288746
Abstract: The various embodiments enable a mobile device to determine the available services in a broadcast network based on an augmented coverage configuration file. In the various embodiments, the augmented coverage configuration file correlates the services for overlapping cells on different frequency carriers enabling the mobile device to determine the available services without having to scan additional frequency carriers.

  • Publication number: 20150223028
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. An apparatus notifies a user equipment (UE) of an upcoming multicast/broadcast of data intended for receipt by a group of UEs assigned a machine type communication (MTC) class. The UE has one or more MTC classes assigned to it and is configured to awake for the upcoming multicast/broadcast of data if the data to be broadcast corresponds to an MTC class assigned to the UE. The apparatus also multicasts/broadcasts the data intended for receipt by a group of UEs through at least one multicast/broadcast mechanism.

  • Patent number: 9025462
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus receives a first service and determines a potential upload time period including an aggregation time period. The potential upload time period is for uploading a reception report for the first service. The apparatus receives a second service before expiration of the aggregation time period. The apparatus determines whether to generate first reporting information for the received first service and second reporting information for the received second service. The apparatus aggregates the first reporting information and the second reporting information based upon the determination to generate both the first reporting information and the second reporting information.

  • Patent number: 8914471
Abstract: Methods, systems and devices provide mechanisms and systems for efficiently delivering files over a broadcast system to mobile devices. Files for broadcast may be logically identified as belonging to a directory in a file system. A Broadcast Schedule Message may inform receiver devices of files that will be broadcast at a specified time, as well as describe the files. File may be transmitted in file delivery pipes, which may be of different bandwidth and data rates. Receiver devices configured according to the embodiments may make use of the broadcast schedule message to select files to be received based on the service or application with which the file is associated, and whether the file is new or an update to a previously received file. Receiver devices activate receiver circuitry to capture the files within their advertised broadcast window, and pass the received files to applications or services requesting the files.

  • Patent number: 7315515
Abstract: A system and method for transmission control protocol (TCP) acceleration. Incoming acknowledgement (ACK) packets belonging to a TCP session are received, and an upstream queue is searched for queued acknowledgment packets belonging to the same TCP session. If the incoming acknowledgment packet is not a duplicate of the queued acknowledgment packet, one of the queued acknowledgment packets is replaced with the incoming acknowledgment packet in the position in the upstream queue occupied by the oldest of the queued acknowledgment packets. After the oldest queued acknowledgement packet is replaced, remaining acknowledgement packets in the queue are dropped.
