    Abstract: It is provided an electrode for a lithium-ion battery comprising an active layer comprising a linear styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene (SEBS) copolymer as a binder which is characterized by having a melt flow rate (MFR) measured at 230° C. and 2.16 kg load from 4 to 220 g/10 min; a molecular weight of less than 100,000 g/mol, particularly from 50,000 g/mol to 100,000 g/mol and; a styrene content from 10 to 20 wt. %. It is also provided a process for the preparation of the electrode, which can be a cathode or an anode, and a Li-ion battery comprising the electrode.
