  • Patent number: 12113379
Abstract: An apparatus for performing the following: the apparatus maintains, in a database, one or more trained machine learning algorithms for predicting an optimal charging strategy for a time interval based on one or more values of a set of prediction parameters relating to a point of common coupling and one or more electrical load devices and on a state of charge level of the battery energy storage system. The apparatus obtains one or more recent values of the set of prediction parameters relating to one or more previous time intervals and predicts, using the one or more trained machine learning algorithm, an optimal charging strategy for a next time interval based on the one or more recent values and a current state of charge level of the battery energy storage system. Finally, the apparatus operates the battery energy storage system using the predicted optimal charging strategy.

  • Publication number: 20230314528
Abstract: A method for estimating battery degradation includes acquiring battery parameters, characteristics of calendar ageing wearing, cycle ageing wearing coefficient BWC2, wherein BWC1 is a function of State of Charge and BWC2 is a function of charging/dis-charging rate, acquiring and/or calculating instantaneous values of SoC and C-rate of a battery in a defined period, reading instantaneous values of calendar ageing wearing coefficient BWC1 and/or instantaneous values of cycle ageing wearing coefficient BWC2 corresponding to instantaneous values of SoC and C-rate of a battery acquired previously, using characteristics of calendar ageing wearing coefficients acquired and determining value of calendar ageing wearing index BWI1 by referring integrated instantaneous values of BWC1 determined to the integrated instantaneous values of BWC1 for a period of nominal operation time with maximum allowable value of the SoC.

  • Publication number: 20230294544
Abstract: A method of controlling battery energy storage comprises a renewable active power source (PR), a battery energy storage system (BESS), at least one static load (PLoad) and at least one high dynamic load PH.LOAD. Active power demand of the system in the point of common coupling is at quasi-constant level. The method further includes gathering constant active power limit from the external grid (PGRID) and historical data of active power profiles of: predicting the following active power profiles for day+1, calculating required active power of the battery energy storage system, setting daily peak of state of charge and minimum state of charge of the battery energy storage system, and verifying whether daily peak of state of charge and minimum state of charge ensure that instantaneous values of state of charge through the entire day of the battery energy storage system is within range of 20% to 80%.

  • Publication number: 20200320239
Abstract: The invention simulates flows in a geological reservoir having a heterogeneous pore size. From laboratory measurements on samples taken in the geological reservoir, pore size distribution classes are determined and a triple-porosity model representative of each class is determined. The flow simulator according to the invention implements the triple-porosity model, a thermodynamic equation of state accounting for an equivalent dimension of the pores of the small-size medium, fluid exchanges exclusively between the large-pore and small-pore media and between the small-pore and fracture media, and the capillary pressure as a function of the saturation in a small-pore medium.
