  • Patent number: 9380293
Abstract: A method for generating a model of a flat object from views taken by at least two calibrated cameras, which is capable of generating two-dimensional and volumetric representations of the object, where the representations can be a depth map, a volumetric representation or a mesh representation, method including the following basic steps: calibrating at least two cameras, calculating several 3D coordinates of at least three points belonging to the same plane of the flat object, calculating the equation of the plane of the flat object, selecting at least one region representing the surface of the flat object, in at least one view provided by at least one camera, and calculating the intersection between the selected region representing the surface of the object and the equation of the plane.

  • Publication number: 20110200303
Abstract: A non-transitory computer readable storage medium includes a computer-readable code for executing a method of video playback, capable of displaying a video file in a three-dimensional environment (2) from any perspective, by projecting two-dimensional frames (1) of the video file on said environment (2), according to a position and perspective assigned to the frame (1).

  • Patent number: 5369946
Abstract: A centrifugal spinning apparatus, comprises a plurality of drawing mechanisms for simultaneously producing a plurality of fiber tows and a plurality of spinning units forming an assembly of such units operating in synchronism, each spinning unit being associated with a respective drawing mechanism and comprising a pair of centrifugal spinning pots associated with respective temporary storage bobbins. Each drawing mechanism alternately supplies two spinning pots. On changing pots, the yarn is severed and its end is picked up by a temporary storage bobbin. A carriage, displaceable along a guide, carries a yarn suction arm pivotally mounted about shaft, a joining device, a reserve yarn bobbin system, and a take-up bobbin. The carriage is moved opposite storage bobbins of the different spinning systems associated with the several drawing mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 5277018
Abstract: In a method for connecting two yarn ends to one another, each yarn end is held at two longitudinally spaced apart points and an axial untwisting is introduced. These two untwisted ends are then joined together head to tail by gripping the central portion. There is next induced in the untwisted portion of each end between the central gripped portion and the respective yarn holding point by means of which the untwisting was induced, an axial excess untwisting with simultaneous winding of the free fibre ends about the portion subjected to excess untwist. The twist is retransferred by releasing the central portion during this operation.

  • Patent number: 4406115
Abstract: To unravel a terminal portion of a textile yarn, in particular in preparation for joining that yarn to another one by twisting their ends together, an extremity of the yarn is vibrated to loosen the fibers while a part of the yarn spaced from its end is held fast and the yarn extremity is combed or subjected to an aspirated air stream to remove loose fibers. In a preferred arrangement the air stream also causes vibration of a flexible tongue mounted in an air duct alongside the yarn extremity to oscillate its fibers.

  • Patent number: 4356688
Abstract: The yarn pieces to be joined are stretched between the two pairs of suction tubes (28, 29; 30, 31) and untwisted by being wound about spindles (20, 21). Hot compressed air fed along the surface of two blocks (32, 33) adjacent to the untwisted yarn portions remove free fibers and distribute the fiber tufts in the base of a channel formed in said blocks (32, 33). Said tufts are retained in the base of the channel by an electrostatic field formed with the aid of conductors (46) and the generator (GE). The blocks are then rotated about the rotation shafts (4, 5) until the channel edges are in contact with each other. Air is fed perpendicularly to the plane containing the fiber tufts in proximity to their respective ends in order to cause the fibers of the two tufts to interpenetrate, the spindles (20, 21) then being driven in the reverse direction in order to twist the fiber tufts and to disengage the yarn.
