  • Publication number: 20230336432
Abstract: A method for enabling automated provisioning of Packet Flow Descriptors (PFD) for the detection of applications in 5GC by a network data analytics entity (e.g. NWDAF). The method comprises receiving at the network data analytics entity a traffic trace together with an at least one further parameter, determining a Packet Flow Descriptor (PFD) that can be used to classify the traffic trace, and providing the PFD together with the at least one further parameter as traffic classification analytic result. This analytic can be stored in a user data repository entity (e.g. UDR). The method may further comprise classifying the traffic trace into a set of traffic traces, wherein the set of traffic traces share the at least one further parameter and are classified using the PFD.

  • Publication number: 20230092788
Abstract: A technique of triggering transition control between different RRC states of wireless terminal devices is described. A method aspect of this technique comprises receiving a request for an RRC state transition control for a terminal device, wherein the request includes at least one identifier associated with the terminal device. The method further comprises obtaining a temporal inactivity parameter associated with the at least one identifier, wherein the temporal inactivity parameter depends on an estimated period of time between two traffic activities of the terminal device. Further still, the method comprises triggering, based on the temporal inactivity parameter or a parameter derived on the basis of the temporal inactivity parameter, the RRC state transition control for the terminal device.

  • Patent number: 11533546
Abstract: The invention relates to a method, for controlling at least one path in a multipath environment by a path control entity, wherein the at least one one path is used for transmitting an encrypted video stream comprising a sequence of video segments. The method comprises the following steps: estimating a resolution used in the video stream based on the video segments, and determining that the resolution used in the video stream has changed during the transmission. When it is determined that the resolution used in the video stream has changed, an adaptation of a number of the at least one path used for transmitting the video stream in the multipath configuration is initiated based on the determined change of the resolution.

  • Publication number: 20220385550
Abstract: A technique for dynamically classifying and re-classifying a data packet flow on a user plane of a core network domain is described. According to an apparatus aspect, a device is provided for dynamically classifying and re-classifying a data packet flow, wherein the device is configured to classify and re-classify the data packet flow using packet detection rules (PDRs) and wherein each PDR is associated with at least one action to be applied to data packets matching the PDR. The device is configured to receive one or more first data packets of a data packet flow, to determine that the received one or more first data packets match a first PDR to classify the data packet flow according to the first PDR, and to trigger application of at least one first action associated with the first PDR to the one or more first packets.
