    Abstract: A safety construction for a passenger vehicle having a fixed body portion secured to a chassis and a separable body portion comprising a passenger compartment with a platform secured to the chassis by a resilient release system. The release system includes a plurality of spring means and frangible fastener means adapted to keep the platform in engagement with the chassis until caused to separate upon application of a predetermined shear force.
