Abstract: A system and method for capturing, storing, and retrieving technical information as a collection of related lexical concepts. The system comprises a context-sensitive user interface, a central server based lexicon, and a centralized or distributed storage system. The reporting interface presents the user with choices from the lexicon appropriate to the current context, simplifying the process and improving efficiency. The report hierarchy can be extended as needed to accommodate new classes of information. The system learns from user choices becoming more efficient over time.
