  • Patent number: 11898191
Abstract: An enzymatic electrochemical method for the quantification of analytes in isolated samples of biological fluids based on a dual biosensor strip electrochemical system. The sample is analyzed in parallel using first and second different biosensor test strips (blank and complete) and the results are obtained by subtracting a response obtained in the electrodes of the first biosensor test strip from a response obtained in the electrodes of the second biosensor test strip, thus eliminating the effect of interferences and isolating the signal corresponding only to the analyte determination.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 18, 2020
Date of Patent: February 13, 2024
    Assignee: BIOLAN HEALTH, S.L.
Inventors: Laura González-Macia, Maitane Urien Berrio, Roberto González Rioja, Arrate Jaureguibeitia Cayrols, Israel Sánchez Moreno, Carmen Hermida Díaz

  • Patent number: 9529000
Abstract: The test of the invention comprises the measuring the total amount of xylose in urine and/or its concentration in blood following oral administration of 4-O?-D-galactopyranosyl-D-xylose (4-GX) to the patient. It is a non-invasive test that is based on the direct evaluation of the global enzyme activity in the whole individual, not on measuring the metabolic consequences derived from its deficiency. It does not require specialised equipment, does not cause apparent discomfort in patients with lactase deficiency and is very reliable, thus overcoming the drawbacks of the diagnostic tests currently in use and is a statistically significantly better test in terms of its reliability; consequently it should become the reference or gold standard test for the indication of hypolactasia.

Date of Patent: December 27, 2016
