  • Publication number: 20230350548
Abstract: A method for extending the operating functionality of a field device from one operating device to another includes establishing a wireless communication connection between the operating device and the field device via a first communication interface, wherein the operating device executes at least one operating program having a plurality of display elements and operating functions; via which the field device is serviced. The method includes initiating a search via a communication interface for an operating device. Where at least one other operating device is found, a wireless communication connection between the operating devices via one of the communication interfaces is established. The method also includes transmitting part of the display elements and/or operating functions to the other operating program of the other operating device and servicing the field device by means of the other operating device via the display elements and operating functions transmitted to the other operating program.

  • Patent number: 11747187
Abstract: The present disclosure includes a method for creating a masking curve for an ultrasonic or radar-based fill level measuring device. A measuring signal is transmitted, a measurement curve is recorded based on the reflected measuring signal, and at least two greatest maxima are ascertained from the measurement curve. The at least two ascertained maxima are normalized with reference to the greatest maximum and one of the normalized maxima is assigned to the fill level, so that the masking curve can be created based on the measurement curve in at least one subrange between the fill level measuring device and the maximum of the fill level value. Because of the normalization of the maxima, the danger of mistake in the assignment can be lessened, so that the assignment and subsequent fill level measurements are reliable.

  • Publication number: 20210348961
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for the radar-based measurement of a filling level, in which method a difference curve is adjusted iteratively in successive measurement cycles to suppress interfering echoes. The iterative adjustment is accomplished by: calculating a difference curve from the evaluation curve and a predefined reference curve; determining the filling level from the evaluation curve within a selection region; checking if the difference curve satisfies a predefined criterion at at least one location; redefining the selection region at said location in the subsequent measurement cycle when the difference curve satisfies the criterion; and set the evaluation curve as a new reference curve when the difference curve satisfies the criterion. The iterative adjustment provides the advantage that the search region of the filling level maximum in the evaluation curve is limited on one side, and slowly changing interfering echoes can also be detected.
