  • Patent number: 10848538
Abstract: Synchronized source selection for adaptive bitrate (ABR) encoders may be provided. First, a first adaptive transport stream (ATS) that is aligned with a second ATS produced by a second device may be provided from a first source by a first device. The first device may be fed from the first source. Next, an indication that the second device switched from being fed from the first source to being fed from a second source may be received. In response to receiving the indication, the first device may be switched from being fed from the first source to being fed from the second source. The first ATS that is aligned with the second ATS produced by the second device may then be produced from the second source by the first device.

  • Patent number: 10423481
Abstract: A system can include a reconciliation engine configured to evaluate metadata in a given manifest file of a plurality of manifest files generated for redundant copies of a given media asset. The metadata describes a condition of a given chunk of media content in one of the redundant copies of the given media asset. The system can also include a manifest modification function configured to modify the given manifest file for the given chunk of media content in response to the reconciliation engine detecting that the given chunk of media content is damaged based on the evaluation of the metadata associated with the given chunk of media content in the given manifest file.

  • Patent number: 7626925
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for unambiguously identifying merge points associated with backup label switched paths (LSPs) which substantially bypass border routers included along a primary LSP are disclosed. According to one aspect of the present invention, a method for finding a merge point between a primary LSP and a backup LSP which has a head-end and a tail-end in different regions includes obtaining identifying information, which identifies nodes on the path of the primary LSP, from a record route object associated with the primary LSP. The method also includes comparing a node address of the identifying information with a destination address of the backup LSP or a node address present in a node identifier (node-ID) subobject of the backup LSP to identify the merge point.

  • Patent number: 6128665
Abstract: A data transmission network having a port-based default VLAN that limits flooding to other VLANs. The default VLAN receives a data packet, ascertains the destination address of the packet, and then determines if the destination port is one of the default VLAN ports. The data packet is transmitted to the destination port if it is one of the default VLAN ports, or to each of the default VLAN ports if the destination port is not one of the default VLAN ports. The data packet is not transmitted to any other non-default VLAN port.
