The method includes identifying a request for a change of an orientation of a screen in a device from a first screen orientation to a second screen orientation. The request may be sent by a mobile application. The method further includes determining whether the device has an ability to rotate the screen to the second orientation, canceling the request for change of the orientation of the screen, and adjusting the resolution of the screen to emulate rotation of the screen to the second orientation while remaining in the first orientation.
