Abstract: A light-tight film reel which is positionable on a spindle having a driving connection for rotating said reel, comprising a cylindrical hub-core assembly which includes a central bore in the core for locating the reel on the spindle, at least one separate cavity isolated from the bore disposed between the bore and the periphery of the hub, at least one film threading axial slots in the hub periphery that communicates with the cavity and an axially displaceable film locking member fitting within the cavity.

Abstract: An integrally injection-moulded rectangular microfilm container with a box section and a hinged lid section, which has cooperating snap-locking protections on lateral walls of the lid and of the box, such protections extending in a direction generally parallel with the rear walls and of the lid and box of the container, whereby easy unmoulding of the container from the mould is obtained.

Abstract: A light-tight cassette for photographic material, which has the form of a box (11) having wall portions (26,27) defining an exit slot (15) for material drawn from a roll (19). The exit slot has light-sealing means which is formed by cooperating flexible (31,32) lips, and generally rigid ribs (36,37) which limit the deflection of the lips. The box and the flexible lips are preferably made by the co-extrusion of suitable plastics. The cassette has the advantage that a satisfactory light-tightness of the dispenser slot can be obtained with very flexible lips, so that damage to the film by frictional contact with the lips is avoided while an effective light seal is assured for all paths of the material through the slot.

Abstract: A light-tight cassette (1) suitable for holding a roll of web-like light-sensitive photographic material (2) wound around a core (6) and for dispensing the photographic material through a slit (19) provided in the cassette which is in the form of a box comprising a hollow shell portion (3) whose wall at three of its corners is at least partly and locally realized as a double wall and two end closure walls (4, 5) which are secured to the shell portion (3) by perforations provided in the outer wall of the double wall portions of the shell and cooperating detent fingers on the end closure walls. The inner wall of the double wall portions of the shell prevents light from intruding into the cassette through perforations in the outer shell wall and makes the cassette perfectly light-tight.

Abstract: A cassette for holding and dispensing a roll of web material that is provided with locking means for preventing rotation of the roll prior to initial withdrawal of material from the roll, the locking means being formed by a generally rigid locking member with one end portion frictionally engaged within the core of the roll, and the other end portion non-rotationally connected with a cassette end wall, and a weakened zone interconnecting those end portions, and adapted to rupture upon rotation of the core incidental to the initial withdrawal of material from the roll.
