    Abstract: A method for precompacting glass sheets for use in flat panel displays, particularly those which utilize polycrystalline silicon. The glass is exposed to a temperature and pressure and for a period of time sufficient to precompact the glass sheet an amount necessary to make the glass sheet suitable for use in a flat panel display which uses polysilicon.
