  • Publication number: 20130219952
Abstract: The height measured from the bottom surfaces of support legs is set to be 2.5 or more times as great as the outer diameter of the compressor body, the height of the center of gravity measured from the bottom surfaces of the support legs to the center of gravity is set to be ½ or less the overall height, and the support legs are provided in number of four, based on the fulfillment of Rc/cos?<Rb<L. Here Rb is the support point radius of the compressor body, Rc is the outer radius of the compressor body, L is the distance from a longitudinal central axis of the compressor body to a longitudinal central axis of an accumulator, and ? is an angle half the angle formed between the adjacent support legs about the central axis.

  • Publication number: 20130224671
Abstract: An integral igniter and flame sensor for a furnace includes a mounting base installable in an access port to a burner in a furnace. An igniter extends from the mounting base toward at least one burner of the furnace, and a flame sensor extends from the same mounting base toward the at least one burner. A furnace includes a housing and a heat exchange portion located in the housing. The heat exchange portion includes a heat exchanger and a burner assembly located to heat the heat exchanger. The burner assembly includes at least one burner and an integral igniter and flame sensor. The integral igniter and flame sensor includes a mounting base installable in an access port to the at least one burner. An igniter extends from the mounting base toward the at least one burner and a flame sensor extends from the same mounting base toward the same burner.

  • Publication number: 20130225060
Abstract: An air conditioning unit includes a passage having a heat exchanger; a blower for blowing air through the passage; a blower motor driving the blower in response to a drive signal; an energy recovery ventilator (ERV), the blower drawing outside air from the ERV; and a controller for adjusting the drive signal in a ventilation mode to reduce power used by the blower motor.

  • Publication number: 20130205614
Abstract: A method and an apparatus are disclosed for removing a solvent from a solvent wetted surface of a heat exchange tube. The method includes placing the heat exchange tube in a vacuum chamber, evacuating the vacuum chamber to a lower pressure at which the solvent boils to a vapor, and reclaiming the solvent vapor. The method may include heating the heat exchange tube within the vacuum chamber to a temperature of at least room temperature, but below the solvent's flash point temperature. The apparatus includes a vacuum chamber, a vacuum pump for evacuating the vacuum chamber and a solvent reclaimer for recovering solvent vapor. The apparatus may also include an infrared heater, a radiant heater or other non-flame heater. The method and apparatus may be used for removing solvent from a heat exchange tube having an inside surface wetted with a solvent carrying a dry lubricant.

  • Publication number: 20130197698
Abstract: A method for self-determining a root cause of a system fault in a heating, ventilation, and cooling (HVAC) system includes receiving a fault message indicative of a fault condition in an operating characteristic of the HVAC system; determining a causal relationship between the fault condition and a predetermined list of root causes associated with the fault condition; receiving information indicative of operating conditions of the HVAC system; and eliminating at least one root cause that is unrelated to the fault condition in response to the receiving of the information.

  • Publication number: 20130174733
Abstract: A thermal energy recovery and humidity control system includes a rotating member including a desiccant material located to rotate across a supply air stream and a return airstream. A variable-speed drive element is operably connected to the rotating member to change a rotational speed of the rotating member to allow for switching between thermal energy recovery operation and humidity control operation of the system. A method of climate control includes rotating a desiccant member across both a supply air stream and a return airstream of a climate control system. The desiccant member is rotated at a first rotational speed to transfer thermal energy from the supply air stream to the return air stream. The desiccant member is rotated at a second rotational speed different than the first rotational speed to reduce humidity of the supply air stream.
