  • Patent number: 9862011
Abstract: A dart assembly for cleaning tubes including at least one annular disk having a first end, a second end, an outer perimeter and at least one longitudinal groove in the outer perimeter extending from the first end to the second end and at least one cutting wheel. The cutting wheel is positioned within the groove such that a portion of the cutting wheel extends into the groove and a portion extends beyond the outer perimeter of the annular disk. The dart assembly may also include at least one scraper disk and the annular disk and the scraper disk may be positioned at opposite ends of a shaft. Also, a method of cleaning a tube where a dart assembly is inserted into the inner diameter of the tube and forced through the tube using pressurized fluid. The dart assembly may have any or all of the features described above.

  • Publication number: 20160121378
Abstract: A dart assembly for cleaning tubes that includes a plug with a shaft having a first end and a second end and a scraper extending laterally from the shaft and a flexible, compressible ball attached to the second end of the plug. Also, a method of cleaning a tube. A dart assembly as previously described is inserted into the inner diameter of the tube, and the dart assembly is forced through the tube using pressurized fluid. The first end of the dart assembly may be inserted into the tube first such that the interior surface of the tube is first contacted by the scraper and then contacted by the ball as the dart assembly is forced through the tube.

  • Patent number: 7575641
Abstract: A method and system utilizing a mobile cleaning unit for providing cleaning of heat exchanger tube bundles. The mobile cleaning unit utilizes a pressurized seal positioned about top door of the cleaning enclosure to provide a fluid and vapor lock of the cleaning enclosure. An oxygen purging system of the cleaning enclosure, the cleaning fluid reservoir, and the control panels provides additional safety. The mobile cleaning unit can use cleaning fluid produced at the facility site and return the cleaning fluid to the facility site for reprocessing after the heat exchanger tube bundles are cleaned.
