    Abstract: An emergency vehicular traffic control apparatus is disclosed and claimed. A process for supplying emergency power to a traffic signal is disclosed and claimed. Emergency energy may be stored in a deep cycle battery, compressed air energy storage, or hydrogen tank (fuel). The energy source may be mounted adjacent existing control stations or it may be mounted inside the large metal poles typically used to support traffic signals.
