The method includes the steps of receiving a global search request through the first application and—in response to the reception of the global search request—prompting for a search term from a user. The method further includes the steps of receiving the search term and—based on the received search term—automatically presenting one or more corresponding candidate elements associated with the second application for selection by the user. In addition, the method includes the steps of receiving the selection of at least one of the candidate elements and linking the selected candidate element with the first application such that a user may access the selected candidate element from the first application.

In particular, calendar information can be selectively accessed from a non-secure calendar application in accordance with a sync setting that is enforceable against the calendar information. The calendar information from the non-secure calendar application can be imported into a secure calendar application. In addition, the imported calendar information can be displayed as part of the user interface of the secure calendar application when the secure calendar application is activated.

The method also includes the steps of receiving input related to the event parameter and automatically comparing the received input to schedule data. The method further includes the step of—based on the comparison of the received input to the schedule data—presenting one or more candidate time periods for the event that are in compliance with the received input.

Abstract: A method for selectively controlling participation in a message conversation is described herein. The method can include the step of sending an initial message that includes a first participant in which the first participant is one of several participants that are part of the initial message. The method can also include the step of receiving a silence command that is configured to restrict one or more characteristics associated with future messages that are related to the initial message. The silence command can identify the characteristics to be restricted and may be on behalf of the first participant. In response to the receipt of the silence command, a future message rule can be generated that is configured to apply the characteristic restrictions identified by the silence command to future messages that are related to the initial message.

Abstract: A method and system for selective preservation of materials related to discovery is described herein. The method includes the step of receiving at a computing device a preservation notification based on a litigation event against an enterprise that warrants preservation of related documents. In response to the receipt of the preservation notification, the computing device can be placed in a preservation mode. As part of the preservation mode, materials from at least enterprise materials on the computing device that are to be preserved for discovery can be identified. In addition, the computing device may be a personal computing device of an associate of the enterprise. The method can also include the step of automatically creating back-up copies of the identified materials to comply with preservation requirements related to the litigation event.
