Publication number: 20090231822Abstract: The invention relates to a device (1), in particular an intelligent power module. Said device comprises a power component (3,4) and a control circuit for controlling the power component (3), said component and circuit being located on a substrate (2). A connection between the power component (3) and the control circuit contains a layer consisting of an electrically insulating material, said layer being located on the power component and the substrate (2) and a layer of electrically conductive material, which is located on the layer of electrically insulating material. The invention thus provides an intelligent power module (1), which can be produced in a more cost-effective and compact manner.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 14, 2005Publication date: September 17, 2009Applicant: SIEMENS AKTIENGESELLSCHAFTInventors: Markus Fruhauf, Carsten Rebbereh

Patent number: 7573153Abstract: An apparatus for supplying DC power to a field device, such as a motor, starter or actuator, includes a multi-pole main switch and a DC voltage supply device, both of which are connected at their respective AC-voltage input sides to a line voltage via a line protection. The DC-voltage side of the DC voltage supply device is connected via a two-pole switch to respective lines of the same power cable that connects output terminals of the apparatus to the field device. The multi-pole main switch and the two-pole switch are ganged. This approach eliminates a separate DC power cable between the apparatus and the field device.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2006Date of Patent: August 11, 2009Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventor: Carsten Rebbereh

Patent number: 7327053Abstract: An electronic power circuit includes at least one power semiconductor whose control inputs are connected to a trigger device and a power supply which, on the output side, is connected to terminals of the trigger device and, on the input side, is connected to an accessory device to which a supply voltage is applied. The power semiconductor is implemented as a self-conducting power semiconductor, which economically reduces the forward power losses and switching losses of an electronic power circuit.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2003Date of Patent: February 5, 2008Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Dieter Eckardt, Carsten Rebbereh, Hubert Schierling, Benno Weis

Patent number: 6745083Abstract: In a method and device for monitoring speed, in particular for monitoring the rotation speed of an electric machine, two processors are employed which monitor the speed using different checking modes and cross-compare results. The first processor executes a conventional control algorithm and checks on the basis of an estimated or measured value of the speed whether a speed limit has been exceeded. The second processor determines the actual output frequency, which is also indicative of the speed, of a converter either from actual current values, which are measured anyway, or by reconstructing the voltage from control signals of transistors. Both processors thus monitor if a rotation speed limit has been exceeded and/or execute corresponding response actions. The method also recognizes faults in the power section based on the evaluation of the phase current. The system can also be designed to manage pulling loads.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2002Date of Patent: June 1, 2004Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Dieter Eckardt, Carsten Rebbereh

Publication number: 20040093357Abstract: A method for parameterizing an apparatus is described. An dataset with a parameter is inputted and transmitted to the apparatus and acknowledged upon receipt. The identity of the acknowledged dataset is checked by comparison with the inputted dataset, and the received dataset is released if the two datasets agree. The proposed parameterization method can be used to read in parameters, in particular safety-related parameters, at a predetermined memory location of the apparatus without introducing changes or errors.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 15, 2003Publication date: May 13, 2004Applicant: SIEMENS AKTIENGESELLSCHAFTInventors: Dieter Eckardt, Carsten Rebbereh
