  • Patent number: 9106655
Abstract: A translation device includes a receiver, a processor and a transmitter. The receiver is configured to receive packets from a first party designated for a second party, the received packets including parameters associated with the first party. The processor is configured to translate the parameters of the received packets to form translated packets such that the parameters of the translated packets are associated with the device. The transmitter is configured to transmit the translated packets to the second party.

Date of Patent: August 11, 2015
    Assignee: Alcatel Lucent
Inventors: Bing He, Juergen Stoetzer-Bradler, Chao Sun, Carsten Waitzmann, Quanxiu Liu

  • Publication number: 20080256528
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for replacing software of a stream processing system like a media gateway with redundancy comprising the steps of loading an upgrade of the software, or a part of the software, while the current release is running and integrating and activating the upgrade, such that the running upgrade takes over the functionality, where a redundancy sub-system for an operational sub-system, which should be upgraded, is reconfigured to an independent sub-system and the upgrade is loaded on the independent system, while the operational sub-system remains fully operational. The invention also concerns a respective stream processing system and a computer software product.

  • Publication number: 20070086442
Abstract: A gateway for connecting a public switched telephone network and an Internet Protocol network, comprising at least one interface unit with the public switched telephone network, at least one interface unit with the Internet Protocol network, and at least one processing unit for media conversion between the public switched telephone network and the Internet Protocol network, whereby one or more of said interface units and/or processing units are adapted to communicate gateway-internally via an Ethernet switch for internal packet switching, using an internal connection oriented layer with virtual connection identifiers.

  • Publication number: 20050243842
Abstract: The invention concerns a method of providing a reconfiguration of a packet switching fabric plane and/or a source board of a media gateway, as well as a media gateway for executing this method. The media gateway comprises a set of packet switching fabric planes, a set of source boards and a set of destination boards. The set of source boards and the set of destination boards are connected via Ethernet trunks through a set of packet switching fabric planes. The media gateway detects failures of a packet switching fabric plane and/or a destination board. If it detects such failure, it determines the Ethernet media access control address of the concerned destination board. Then, it reassignes, depending on the MAC address type, the determined Ethernet medium access address to a spare packet switching fabric plane and/or a spare destination board.
