Publication number: 20230341989Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) may be configured for display at an output interface during a video conference. The GUI may comprise visual elements associated with participants of the video conference. For example, the visual elements may include video feeds and/or images associated with the participants. During the video conference, a first visual element may be moved to a location in the GUI based on a characteristic associated with the first visual element. The characteristic and the location may be based on user input. In some implementations, the visual elements may be arranged in a two-dimensional visual layout. In some implementations, the visual elements may be arranged in a three-dimensional visual layout. The visual elements may be moved, for example, based on a communication sent during the video conference, an arrival of a participant to the video conference, and/or a communication modality used during the video conference.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 25, 2022Publication date: October 26, 2023Inventor: Cary Arnold Bran

Publication number: 20230318862Abstract: Multiple participants of a video conference may be detected in the same physical space. A first participant of the multiple participants may be assigned to a virtual breakout room that is associated with the video conference. An availability of a physical resource for the first participant to use in connection with the virtual breakout room may be determined. The physical resource may be allocated to the first participant for use in connection with the virtual breakout room based on the availability. For example, a group of participants may be detected in the same physical space, individually assigned to virtual breakout rooms, and/or individually allocated a physical resource for use in connection with the virtual breakout rooms.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 1, 2022Publication date: October 5, 2023Inventor: Cary Arnold Bran

Publication number: 20220311852Abstract: A mobile phone station and cellphone application cooperating to provide the complete mobility expected of a cellphone and yet provide a complete desktop experience. In a fully wireless embodiment, the mobile phone station and cellphone application cooperate to automatically connect the cellphone to a Miracast monitor without requiring user operations. After performing initial pairing operations and monitor selection, when the cellphone meets selected criteria, such as the cellphone wirelessly charging or the cellphone within Bluetooth range and autoconnection is selected, the mobile phone station directs the cellphone to automatically start Miracast operations and connect to a selected monitor. In one embodiment, the user simply places the cellphone on the wireless charging pad and the desktop environment is activated. When the user wishes to leave, the user simply picks up the cellphone and walks away, the environment connections ceasing when Bluetooth reception ends.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 25, 2021Publication date: September 29, 2022Inventors: Agustin HERNANDEZ MENDOZA, Cary Arnold BRAN

Patent number: 11445149Abstract: A video conferencing system for a reconfigurable meeting room is disclosed. To make the process of reconfiguring a video conferencing system easy and frictionless and in an embodiment, the system may comprise a camera for capturing video of at least a section of the meeting room and to provide video data; a microphone for capturing audio in the meeting room and to provide audio data; and processing circuitry, connected at least with the camera and microphone to receive at least one of the video and audio. The processing circuitry is configured to determine if a change in the layout of the meeting room has occurred, using at least one of the camera and the microphone, and upon determination that the change in the layout has occurred, operate in a proximity joining mode in which the processing circuitry allows linking with at least one proximate video conferencing system for joined operation.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2021Date of Patent: September 13, 2022Assignee: PLANTRONICS, INC.Inventor: Cary Arnold Bran

Publication number: 20220141912Abstract: Systems and methods for recovering accidentally or unintentionally switched data paths between electronic communications devices. In some examples a data path is recovered automatically. In other examples, a user of an electronic communications device is prompted to confirm or prevent data path recovery.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 5, 2020Publication date: May 5, 2022Inventors: Jonathan GROVER, Cary Arnold BRAN
