The flexible wall of each holder extends beyond edges of its respective pair of brackets for forming the flexible edges which are used to support the surgical implements/implants. Outwardly turned feet on the bottom of each of the pair of brackets are placed through holes on a base wall of the sterilization container for securing each holder to the container.

Abstract: In accordance with the present invention a tray for sterilizing, storing, transporting and presenting surgical instruments is formed in a matrix format by molding, extrusion or assembling a matrix of interlocking egg crate type members with the contours of the instruments in question and in some cases a basket shape to hold several small instruments such as screws machined into the top surface of the matrix. The matrix is light, strong and burr free and is an open structure facilitating the passage of the sterilizing media, steam, past the instruments in question.

Abstract: In accordance with the present invention a tray for sterilizing, storing, transporting and presenting surgical instruments is made by drawing or hydroforming a light weight, malleable sheet metal into die cavities with the shapes of the tools in question and in some cases a basket shape to hold several small instruments such as screws with no sharp edges or burrs to puncture or tear the sterile gauze wrap and a high heat transfer coefficient to expedite the drying process after sterilization.

Abstract: A storage and sterilization tray assembly for sterilizing, transporting and storing surgical instruments includes a rack having a top, a bottom and four sides, and at least one slidably mounted drawer carried therein. At least one of the sides includes at least one pivotally mounted door which is moveable between a closed position in which the at least one slidably mounted drawer is retained in the rack, and an open position in which the at least one slidably mounted drawer may be slid at least partially out of the rack. The door also serves to stabilize the rack against tipping when in its open position. Preferably, one or more removable trays are carried in the drawer, and the rack includes a plurality of openings in the top, bottom and sides, aligned with openings in the drawer, for permitting ingress and egress of sterilant therethrough.

Abstract: An instrument cassette and sterile wrap assembly includes a base having an upright sidewall and a horizontal bottom wall, the upright sidewall having a lower slot and an upper aperture defined therein. The assembly includes a latch member having a lower section, an intermediate section and an upper section, wherein (1) the lower section extends through the slot defined in the base, (2) the intermediate section is substantially planar, and (3) the upper section (i) extends through the upper aperture defined in the base, and (ii) has a slot defined therein. The assembly further includes a lid having a horizontal top wall and a tongue member attached thereto, wherein the tongue member extends through the slot defined in the upper section of the latch member when the lid is latched to the base.
