Abstract: This invention discloses a device for mounting optical devices, such as cameras, binoculars, and telescopes, onto fixed objects such as trees, poles, and posts. One end of the optical device mount serves to mount and position the optical device while the other end of the mount includes a mechanism to securely attach to the fixed object. The mount includes a means for quickly and securely attaching the mount to the object by an attached strap that is connected to a ratchet and pawl mechanism. Additional embodiments disclose variations in the device that allow for greater flexibility in the camera's position.
