  • Patent number: 10920529
Abstract: A surface-controlled wireline-retrievable safety valve includes a seat housing having a plurality of flow ports that is configured to house a hard seat. A closure device has a plurality of equalization ports, is disposed within the seat housing, and is configured to controllably move off the hard seat and expose the plurality of flow ports to a central lumen of the safety valve under hydraulic actuation. A power piston having a shoulder portion includes a top end that is attached to the closure device and the shoulder portion is disposed within a hydraulic chamber housing forming a differential area. A hydraulic actuation port may be configured to receive hydraulic actuation fluid from a surface pump. A hydraulic passage may be configured to convey the hydraulic actuation fluid from the hydraulic actuation port to the differential area via a hydraulic access port.

  • Publication number: 20200291750
Abstract: A method of intervention in a failed deep-set tubing-retrievable subsurface safety valve disposed in a deepwater or ultra-deepwater subsea well uses a deep-set wireline-retrievable subsurface safety valve that may be deployed via wireline into the failed deep-set tubing-retrievable subsurface safety valve. The deep-set wireline-retrievable subsurface safety valve has a closure actuation mechanism that is disposed below the closure device. In addition, the closure actuation mechanism includes a pressure-balanced piston that is exposed to wellbore fluids on both distal ends of the piston, thereby allowing the piston to actuate the closure device in deepwater and ultra-deepwater wells with significant hydrostatic head in the control line.

  • Publication number: 20200056714
Abstract: A production tubing pressure insensitive wireline retrievable safety valve includes an upper and a lower packing to create a hydraulic seal in an annulus surrounding a portion of the wireline retrievable safety valve and a hydraulic fluid intake port to receive hydraulic fluid in the annulus surrounding the wireline retrievable safety valve within the hydraulic seal from a surface. The hydraulic fluid is communicated to a piston shoulder chamber disposed below the hydraulic seal to move a power piston under actuation pressure and compress a power spring disposed within a gas chamber. A ball valve connected to the power piston moves a ball off seat when the power piston is forced down allowing fluid communication through a plurality of flow ports into a central lumen of the wireline retrievable safety valve exposed when the ball is off seat.

  • Patent number: 9605525
Abstract: A modular, adjustable system for distributing fluids to one or more wellbores includes a plurality of modules that can be arranged at a well site to create an appropriate manifold to enable selective fluid communication between a fluid pumping system and the one or more wellbores. The modules each include a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet and a valve coupled therebetween to selectively permit or restrict fluid flow between the respective fluid inlets and fluid outlets. The modules are configured to be readily maneuvered, coupled and locked to one another at a well site.
