Abstract: A universal suction control device is disclosed that can be arranged in relation to surgical tubing to control the amount of air passing through the tubing. The suction control devices are arranged for easy, point-of-care control of suction while minimizing excessive noise pollution from suction during surgery. One suction control device comprises a mounting mechanism for mounting on surgical suction tubing. A first blocking portion is included for engaging the suctional tubing to block the passage of suction air through the tubing. A control surface is also included that is movable to control the engagement of said blocking portion with said surgical suction tubing to control the amount of air passing through said surgical suction tubing.
