Abstract: A tensioning and closure system for a waistband of a garment, such as trousers is disclosed. A waistband defines an opening and a tensioning member is secured on one side of the opening. A receiver configured to receive the tensioning member is positioned on an opposite side of the opening and receives the tensioning member in order to close the opening. A tensioning strap includes a first portion anchored at a first end and extending to the tensioning member and a second portion passing from the tensioning member back toward the first end. A second end of the tensioning strap may be pulled to increase tension in the first portion and adjust the effective size of the waistband. The first portion may pass through a first sleeve secured to the waistband and the second portion may pass through a second sleeve secured to the waistband and overlapping the first sleeve.

Abstract: A selectively inflatable watersports inflation device is disclosed. The device is a vest or another wearable device having an inner layer, an outer layer, and a bladder between the inner and outer layers. The device also includes one or more canisters coupled to the bladder and configured to selectively deliver pressurized gas into the bladder to provide flotation when actuated. The device also includes a pressure release valve that can also be manually actuated to release pressure from the bladder. The device can include multiple discrete canisters that can each be deployed independently of one another to provide an inflatable device that can be triggered multiple times even in hazardous conditions such as high surf.

Abstract: Techniques for automatically adjusting and/or optimizing the color and/or intensity of the illuminating light used in a vision system is presented. The intensity of each of a plurality of illuminating light colors is allowed to be independently adjusted to adapt the illumination light based on the color of a part feature against the part feature background of a part being viewed by the vision system to produce high contrast between the part feature and background. Automated contrast optimization may be achieved by stepping through all available color combinations and evaluating the contrast between the part feature and background to select a color combination having a “best” or acceptable contrast level.
