Abstract: A gage for checking at least one characteristic of the threads of a threaded member comprising a supporting structure, and a carriage including first and second elements mounted for movement on the supporting structure. The threaded member is mounted on the supporting structure. A standard member having a standard surface defining precisely the characteristic which is to be checked is also mounted on the supporting structure. One of the members is mounted for movement. The first and second elements are adapted to cooperate with the threads of the threaded member and the standard surface of the standard member, respectively. Movement of the movable member provides an indication of the characteristic of the threads which is to be measured.
