  • Publication number: 20240165710
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a gas flow delivery apparatus and systems of an additive manufacturing system. The gas delivery apparatus comprises a first conduit having an elbow and an outer diameter DA and at least one second conduit fluidly coupled to the first conduit at a mixing region. The mixing region is positioned downstream of the elbow of the first conduit, and the mixing region is at least a distance Z from a center line of the at least one second conduit to the elbow. A diffuser is fluidly coupled to the first conduit downstream of the mixing region, the diffuser comprising an outlet having a perforated plate.

  • Publication number: 20240157646
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to additive manufacturing systems, components therein, and methods for their use. The additive manufacturing system comprises a powder material handling system comprising a virgin powder inlet. The virgin powder inlet is coupled to a virgin powder drum and configured to receive a virgin powder from the virgin powder drum. The additive manufacturing system further comprises a liquid material handling system comprising a binder inlet. The binder inlet is coupled to a binder drum and configured to receive a binder from the binder drum. The additive manufacturing system also comprises an additive manufacturing machine coupled to the powder material handling system and the liquid material handling system. The additive manufacturing machine receives the virgin powder and the binder from the powder material handling and liquid material handling systems and is configured to manufacture a work product using the virgin powder and the binder.

  • Publication number: 20230398744
Abstract: According to various embodiments, an additive manufacturing apparatus comprises a process chamber surrounding a print head, a recoat head, and a linear motion stage to which the print head and the recoat head are coupled. The print head and recoat head operate within the process chamber to build a three-dimensional object by depositing a build material and a binder material. The additive manufacturing apparatus further comprises a condenser system fluidly coupled to the process chamber to receive a gas stream with a first vapor content from the process chamber and provide the gas stream with a second vapor content to the process chamber. The second vapor content is less than the first vapor content. Additionally, the additive manufacturing apparatus comprises a blower fluidly coupled to the process chamber and the condenser to flow the gas stream through a closed loop comprising the blower, the process chamber, and the condenser.

  • Patent number: 10806014
Abstract: An x-ray tube casing is provided which includes a housing having a heat exchanger integrally formed thereon in an additive manufacturing process. The additive manufacturing process allows for tight tolerances with regard to the structure for the casing and the internal passages of the heat exchanger to significantly reduce the size and weight of the casing. The casing additionally includes a fluid distribution manifold that effectively distributes the cooling fluid within the casing to more efficiently provide cooling to the x-ray tube insert disposed within the casing.
