Abstract: A power injection catheter for high flow rate delivery of fluids. The power injection catheter may include a pressure relief mechanism for preventing overpressurizing within the lumen of the catheter. The pressure relief mechanism may be configured to prevent sudden pressure build-up inside the catheter lumen by absorbing, buffering or releasing pressure inside the lumen during pressure spikes. The power injection catheter may also take the form of a multi-lumen catheter capable of simultaneous infusions of a single fluid through two or more of the lumens in the catheter.

Abstract: Power injection catheters for high flow rate delivery of fluids are disclosed. In one embodiment, a catheter may include a body defining one lumen and a plurality of extension tubes each comprising a lumen in fluid communication with the one lumen of the catheter body. Further, an extension tube may be configured for performing power injection and an extension tube may include a proximal valve. In another embodiment, a catheter may comprise a plurality of lumens and extension tubes, each of the extension tubes comprising a lumen in fluid communication with one lumen of the catheter body, respectively. At least one extension tube may be configured for performing power injection and at least one extension tube may include a proximal valve. Such catheters may include a pressure relief mechanism for preventing overpressurizing of the catheter. A method of injecting a fluid into a patient's body is disclosed.

Abstract: A catheter connector system that allows trimming of the proximal end of a catheter (single or multiple lumen) prior to the placement of a connector hub. In one variation, the catheter connector system comprises a catheter, a connector sheath including a soft collet, and a connector hub including a cannula for engaging the catheter and a connector hub interface for receiving the connector sheath.

Abstract: A catheter connector system for a subcutaneously placed catheter. The catheter connector system permits proximal trimming of the placed catheter, which is a procedure that provides numerous advantages over traditional methods of trimming catheter distal ends prior to implantation. The catheter connector system can be configured for a single lumen catheter or a multiple lumen catheter. The catheter connector system facilitates precise positioning of both distal and proximal ends of a catheter, providing enhanced function ability and patient comfort.
