  • Patent number: 11624436
Abstract: A vehicle has an engine; a drive pulley connected to and driven by a crankshaft of the engine; a driven pulley; an output shaft connected to and driven by the driven pulley; a belt looped around the pulleys; and a cover connected to the engine. The cover and the engine define a volume therebetween. A baffle disposed in the volume separates the volume in first and second chambers. The first chamber is disposed between the baffle and the engine. The second chamber is disposed between the baffle and the cover. The pulleys are disposed in the second chamber. The baffle defines first and second apertures fluidly communicating the first chamber with the second chamber. An air inlet is fluidly connected to the first chamber. An air outlet is fluidly connected to the second chamber.

  • Patent number: 11396930
Abstract: A drive pulley for a continuously variable transmission (CVT) has a pulley shaft with a fixed sheave, a movable sheave and a back plate thereon. The movable sheave has a movable sheave surface with first and second surface portions that faces the back plate. A biasing member biases the sheaves away from each other. A slider is disposed between the back plate and the movable sheave. The slider has a flat engagement zone surface, and a curved driving zone surface extending outward from the engagement zone surface. From rest, as the pulley shaft accelerates, the engagement zone surface of the slider slides radially outward against the first portion of the movable sheave surface and then the driving zone surface of the slider slides radially outward against the second portion of the movable sheave thereby pushing the movable sheave toward the fixed sheave. A vehicle having the CVT is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5648172
Abstract: This invention relates to a glass sheet having a low content of alkaline oxides and alkaline-earth oxides, in the composition of which the sum of the alkaline and alkaline-earth oxides is less than or equal to 15%, with a sodium oxide content less than or equal to 10%, the values being expressed in percentages by weight, at least one of the faces of which is constituted of a surface zone virtually devoid, notably, of alkaline ions.

  • Patent number: 5274493
Abstract: An electrochromic element useful in an electrochromic glass or mirror device and a process for making such element. The element is a five-layered structure including an electrolyte ion conducting layer interposed between first and second inorganic electrochromic layers which are interposed between a pair of conductive electrodes. The second inorganic electrochromic layer is amorphous. The first and second inorganic electrochromic layers are different and are capable of exhibiting color-forming properties complementary to one another upon the incorporation of at least one H, Li, Na, K, Ag, Cu or Tl ion. The electrolyte ion conducting layer may be a copolymer of ethylene oxide, butylene oxide or methyl glycidyl ether, and optionally a small amount of allyl glycidyl ether, along with an ionizable salt, or may be a polyurethane gel formed by reacting the copolymer with triisocyanate, along with an ionizable salt.
