Patent number: 11295960Abstract: A method of etching a silicon oxide film with high precision at high selectivity as compared with a silicon nitride film while establishing both of a higher etching rate of the silicon oxide film and a lower etching rate of the silicon nitride film is provided. An etching method according to the present invention is directed to a dry etching method for etching a film structure without using plasma in which an end of a film layer having a silicon oxide film vertically sandwiched between silicon nitride films and laminated and formed in advance on a wafer disposed in a processing chamber forms a side wall of a groove or a hole while a processing gas is supplied into the processing chamber, the method including the steps of: supplying a hydrogen fluoride gas; cooling the wafer to a low temperature of ?30° C. or lower, preferably, to ?30 to ?60° C.; and etching the silicon oxide film laterally from the end.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2021Date of Patent: April 5, 2022Assignee: HITACHI HIGH-TECH CORPORATIONInventors: Takashi Hattori, Masaki Yamada, Michael Walker, Catherine King, Hiroto Otake

Patent number: 10407915Abstract: A locking member for a gate apparatus comprises a body mountable to a gripping array of a support, said body having a mating form mutually engageable with the gripping array, whereby axial motion of said body relative to said gripping array is inhibited. A member extends away from said body, said member defining a cross-tie mount for receiving a mating end of a cross-tie. The cross-tie mount has a cross-tie end retainer which is movable between a first position securing said cross-tie in said cross-tie mount, and a second position permitting release of said cross-tie from said cross-tie mount, whereby the cross-tie may be moved to function as a gate.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2017Date of Patent: September 10, 2019Assignee: University Health NetworkInventors: Andrew John Hart, Geoffrey Roy Fernie, T. Patent number: 9637931Abstract: A connector apparatus has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion mounts to an upright that has knobby hand grip protrusions. The second portion provides a connection for a laterally extending cross-member. The first portion interacts with the knobby hand grip protrusions to have a combination of a first degree of freedom permitting motion in one direction, while inhibiting motion in a second degree of freedom. The second portion has a releasable connection to the cross-member, and when engaged, has a degree of freedom of motion about an axis of the second portion cross-wise to the axis of the upright. The second portion has a releasable, retained, pin connector with a quarter-turn lock to prevent accidental disengagement. The connection of the second portion is offset such that when two connectors are seated back-to-back their cross-tie connections stand in substantially the same horizontal plane relative to the ground.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2013Date of Patent: May 2, 2017Assignee: University Health NetworkInventors: Andrew John Hart, Geoffrey Roy Fernie, T. Patent number: 8403299Abstract: A device for lifting an article comprises a housing having a leading edge region in fluid communication with an inner chamber. The leading edge region is arranged to engage a region between an article and a support surface beneath the article. An elongate tubular member, closed at one end, and at the other end, in fluid communication with the leading edge region and the inner chamber. The housing is arranged to provide a retracted position in which the elongate tubular member is held relative to the leading edge region and responsive to an operative pressure within the inner chamber so as to unfurl beyond the leading edge region where the elongate tubular member migrates along the access region toward a deployed position in which the tubular member extends a distance such that opposed ends of the tubular member may be used in lifting the article from the support surface.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2012Date of Patent: March 26, 2013Assignee: University Health NetworkInventors: Emily Catherine King, Adam Mathew Sobchak, Gerald Thomas Griggs, Geoffrey Roy Fernie, Philip Joseph Wilcox, Tilak Dutta

Patent number: 7888459Abstract: It has been discovered that facile glycation of proteins can be achieved by colyophilization of a protein with a reducing sugar, subjecting the lyophilized mixture to a vacuum (10 to 50 millitor) and incubating at an elevated temperature (50 to 100° C.) for 1 to 24 h. A stable ketoamine derivative is formed with amino groups in the protein and no advanced glycation end products (browning reaction) are observed, as is the case with aqueous glycation procedures. Another novel feature is that the in vacuo glycation reaction takes place with the protonated amine and not the deprotonated amine as is believed to be the case for aqueous glycation reactions. Advantage can be taken of the in vacuo glycation reaction to achieve facile covalent cross-linking of proteins by lyophilizing protein or proteins with compounds containing two or more reducing sugars separated by a linker.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2003Date of Patent: February 15, 2011Assignee: Anhydrovac Inc.Inventors: Harvey Kaplan, Mary Catherine King, Nicolas Andre Stirling Stewart
