  • Publication number: 20140374435
Abstract: A refillable dispenser includes a flexible pouch having a top and a bottom spaced apart in a width dimension. The bottom terminates at a bottom edge. The pouch has a front wall, a back wall, and an interior space therebetween. The dispenser includes a dispensing opening formed in the front wall. The dispensing opening has a width that extends in the width dimension, and the dispensing opening defines a midpoint along its width. The dispenser includes a seam that extends generally in a length dimension and that is disposed generally at the pouch top. The seam can be opened to an open position and resealed to a closed position to connect the front wall to the back wall. The seam defines a seam inner edge and a seam outer edge. The midpoint of the dispensing opening is disposed closer to the bottom edge than to the seam inner edge.

  • Patent number: 8706184
Abstract: In one embodiment of the invention, an apparatus includes a display device. The display device displays a desaturated image of tissue captured in the visible electro-magnetic (EM) spectrum from a body cavity; and a first color enhanced image combined with the desaturated image. The first color enhanced image represents the first data captured from the body cavity outside the visible electromagnetic spectrum. The relative brightness between the desaturated image and the first color enhanced image is set to emphasize the first data over the tissue captured in the visible electromagnetic spectrum to provide improved information content.

  • Patent number: 7726515
Abstract: An aesthetically pleasing and disposable tissue roll dispenser is disclosed. The tissue roll dispenser may be made from, for instance, a lightweight paperboard and may contain various design elements on the exterior surface. The tissue roll dispenser may contain at least one vertically stacked column of tissue rolls that are gravity fed through the dispenser. For instance, the dispenser may include an opening towards the base of the dispenser for dispensing the tissue rolls. In one embodiment, the opening may be covered by a plastic film that defines a slit. The slit may have a size sufficient to allow the tissue rolls to be dispensed therethrough. The plastic film may be used to protect the tissue rolls from dust, dirt and wetness.

  • Patent number: 7449085
Abstract: Absorbent paper products, such as paper towels, are disclosed which have a combination of high absorbent capacity and a moderate to low rate of absorbency for hand protection. These properties can be produced, for example, using a throughdried basesheet, such as an uncreped throughdried sheet, in which at least one surface of which has been printed with a patterned moisture barrier coating and creped. The presence of the moisture barrier coating on the surface retards the absorbent rate for that side of the sheet while allowing a significant amount of liquid to pass through to the center of the sheet.

  • Publication number: 20080065104
Abstract: A guide probe is telemanipulatively advanced past an intermediate tissue structure. The guide probe is locked in position and a guide tube is advanced over the guide probe. The guide tube is then locked in position, the guide probe is withdrawn, and a surgical instrument is inserted through the guide tube. In aspects of the invention, the guide tube and the surgical instrument are telemanipulatively controlled.

  • Publication number: 20070270745
Abstract: A vacuum-actuated tissue lifting medical device for creating an operative space in a patient for a surgical procedure is disclosed. The device includes a housing having an opening for resting on a tissue surface of a patient. The housing defines an expansion space between the housing and the tissue surface for application of a negative pressure in the expansion space. A penetrator device located within the housing can penetrate into the tissue surface of the patient. A vacuum system is in fluid communication with the housing for creating a negative pressure in the expansion space for advancing the tissue surface onto the penetrator device such that an operative work space is created beneath the tissue surface. A regulator controls the negative pressure in the housing when (i) the negative pressure in the expansion space exceeds a value; (ii) the pressure in the operative work space exceeds a value; or (iii) a combination of (i) and (ii).
