A user of a mobile node at which a database copy is maintained selectably actuates an actuator to select delay of performance of the synchronization operations. Once selection is made to delay the performance of the synchronization operations, selection is further made by a delay selector of the delay period prior to which synchronization operations are carried out.

Abstract: Apparatus, and an associated method, for facilitating determination of whether database copies are in match with one another. A group hash is formed, associated with a group of data records of one of the database copies. The group hash is communicated, by way of a radio air interface, and the value of the group hash is compared with a corresponding value associated with a corresponding group of data records of the other database copy. If the values of the group hashes correspond, a determination is made that the groups of database records of the database are in match with one another. And, through communication of only a single group hash on the radio air interface, database correspondence of the group data records of the database copies are determined.

A network-based database copy and a mobile-based database copy are maintained, and asynchronously updated. Synchronization operations synchronize the databases to place the databases in match with one another. Session state information is maintained, and communicated between the mobile node and the network part pursuant to start of a synchronization session.

Abstract: Apparatus, and an associated method, for facilitating synchronization of spaced-apart database copies, such as a mobile node database copy and a network-based database copy. A change list is created to list change indicia associated with changes made to a database. When synchronization operations are selected to be initiated, a change list lock locks the change list to prohibit subsequent alteration of the change list. And, a change list identifier uniquely identifies the change list, thereby to identify the change list to be associated with a particular synchronization session. Subsequent synchronization operations are thereafter performed.

The synchronization session operates to synchronize database copies to place the data records of the database copies in match with one another. A coordinator coordinates change entries that are placed into a change listing. The coordination removes redundancies of the change entries so that the change entries that form a change history are maintained in efficient form, thereby to minimize the bandwidth required upon a radio air interface to communicate such information pursuant to a synchronization session.

Changes to a data record embodied at the network part are detected by a detector. A mapping is performed by a mapper, and a synchronization request is generated by a synchronization request generator. The synchronization request is filtered by a filter, and converted into form to permit its efficient communication upon the radio air interface to a mobile node pursuant to a synchronization session.

Abstract: A synchronization process, and associated apparatus, for placing database copies in match with one another by way of communications effectuated upon an air interface of a radio communication system. Hash functions are performed at a mobile node and at a network part upon mobile and network copies of database information. Comparison of the hash information formed therefrom provides a preliminary indication of whether the databases are in match with one another. If a determination is made that the databases are out of match, the data is compared, and the data is placed in match with one another responsive to such additional comparisons.

Abstract: Home network name displaying methods and apparatus for multiple home networks are disclosed. A mobile station scans to receive a plurality of Mobile Country Code (MCC) and Mobile Network Code (MNC) pairs corresponding to a plurality of communication networks within a coverage area. The mobile station selects and registers with a communication network associated with one of the received MCC and MNC pairs for communication. After the network is selected, the received MCC and MNC pair is compared with a plurality of home network MCC and MNC pairs which are associated with a single home network display name. Based on identifying a match between the received MCC and MNC pair and any one of the home network MCC and MNC pairs, the home network display name is visually displayed in a display of the mobile station. If no match exists, an alternate name is selected for display.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to methods for delivering cells to a target tissue in a mammal using glycoconjugate to traffic the cell to a desired organ in the mammal. The methods according to the present invention are especially applicable to administering stem cells such as those derived from the bone marrow or from umbilical cord tissue. The methods are also useful for targeting a gene of interest to a tissue in a mammal by introducing a cell containing the gene of interest and administering a glycoconjugate to the mammal.

Abstract: A video blink comparator incorporates an optical system for presenting and superimposing a data pattern image and reference pattern image, a video system for generating a video signal for final comparison of the reference image and data image, and a control system for blinking the respective data image and reference image on and off at the same frequency and out of phase so that a video picture formed by the video signal remains constant when the data image and reference image patterns are substantially identical and so that variant elements of the respective patterns blink on and off in the video picture. A lens system is provided spaced from a video camera to provide variable magnification or enlargement of the superimposed pattern images. Universal mounting of components permits sequential scanning of the superimposed image in fractional portions or blocks permitting non-linear distortion introduced during pattern formation.
