Such compositions comprise a number of surfactants and a number of analgesic compounds, and may optionally comprise antibacterial agents and/or a cosmetically suitable carrier. A method of making an analgesic soap composition is also provided. A method of using a wash-off analgesic cleansing composition is also provided.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for a heat activated antiperspirant. The heat activated antiperspirant composition includes at least one delayed release component to attract the antiperspirant active ingredient. The at least one delayed release component is a solid up to about 33 degrees Celsius (° C.) and has a melting point of about 33 to 41° C. to release the antiperspirant active ingredient to reduce perspiration.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides deodorant compositions having antibacterial and odor blocking properties and methods for using the deodorant compositions. In one embodiment, a deodorant product includes an odor blocking compound that reduces the perceived intensity of malodors or blocks malodors and an antibacterial compound effective to kill bacteria upon application thereto. In another embodiment, a method of deodorizing a malodor includes applying a deodorant product to the skin. The deodorant product includes an odor blocking compound that reduces the perceived intensity of malodors or blocks malodors and an antibacterial compound effective to kill bacteria upon application thereto.

Abstract: Antiperspirant application devices including antiperspirant compositions and methods of using the antiperspirant application devices are provided herein. In an embodiment, an antiperspirant application device includes a skin-adhesive, transdermal patch including an adhesive compound capable of adhesion to human skin and an antiperspirant active compound based upon an astringent metallic salt disposed within at least a portion of the skin-adhesive, transdermal patch.

Abstract: A mixed powder antiperspirant and methods for producing and using such mixed powder antiperspirants are provided. The method includes mixing an active ingredient, a film former, and a diluent to form the mixed powder antiperspirant. The use of a coating agent is limited to no more than about 10 weight percent based on the total weight of the mixed powder antiperspirant, where a coating agent is (i) any non-water soluble wax, oil, fat, or fatty alcohol with a straight chain alkane or alkene group of 10 or more carbon atoms, (ii) polyethylene, or (iii) cyclomethicone.

The aerosol antiperspirant composition includes an active antiperspirant ingredient. The aerosol antiperspirant composition further includes a number of silicas. The aerosol antiperspirant composition further includes a polar emollient. The aerosol antiperspirant composition further includes a propellant. A manufacturing process for such an aerosol antiperspirant composition is also provided.

Abstract: Methods for making clear stick antiperspirant compositions and products are provided herein. In one example, a method for making a clear stick antiperspirant composition comprises the steps of providing a solvent carrier at substantially below room temperature to define a cool solvent carrier. A gelling agent comprising dibenzylidene sorbitol is incorporated into the cool solvent carrier to form a solvent/DBS premix. An active antiperspirant compound and the solvent/DBS premix are combined.

In an exemplary embodiment, an antiperspirant composition includes an active antiperspirant compound, a hair minimizing compound, and a skin lubricating compound. In another exemplary embodiment, a method for preparing an antiperspirant composition includes combining an active antiperspirant compound, a suspending agent, and a carrier at a first temperature to form a mixture and cooling the mixture to form a cooled mixture having a second temperature that is lower than the first temperature. The exemplary method further includes combining a hair minimizing compound and a skin lubricating compound to the mixture and pouring the mixture into a mold at a third temperature that is lower than the second temperature.

An exemplary method includes selecting a dye concentration of a dye that is brightly or intensely colored, determining a dye concentration of the dye that does not change the color of skin or minimally changes the color of skin, and determining a dye concentration of the dye that does not transfer color or minimally transfers color. An exemplary dye includes, by weight percent of the personal care product in which such dye is provided, approximately 0.001500% Red 33 dye and 0.003750% Orange 4 dye.

Abstract: Skin and surface sanitizers and methods for forming skin and surface sanitizers are provided. In one embodiment, a surface sanitizer is formed of a plurality of dry particles. Each dry particle comprises a liquid comprising an antibacterial agent and a dry particulates coating surrounding the liquid. The liquid is present in an amount of from about 10 to about 90 wt. % of each dry particle. The surface sanitizer has a germ kill effectiveness of at least 50%.
