Publication number: 20220259520Abstract: A sampler is presented for a sample of a scented, waxy candle material. The scented, waxy material is melted and may be diluted with compatible additives and/or liquid (organic oil or hydrocarbon), before being layered to a face of a bottom layer. A top layer (3) is applied directly over the sample and can be adhered to the bottom layer to form a seal. In another embodiment a peripheral seal, is formed between the top and the bottom layers. The seal is separable by a user pulling on a tab a portion of the top layer to expose the face of the sample to the atmosphere allowing the volatile molecules present in the candle to be released. With a repositionable glue as a seal, the top layer can be replaced to prevent further release of volatile molecules. A method is also shown for making the sample.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 10, 2020Publication date: August 18, 2022Applicant: AKI, INC.Inventors: Mickael Devassine, Amal Brohmi, Catholyn T. Patent number: 9301589Abstract: A method of manufacturing a cosmetic applicator formed of a substrate and an application element comprising one or more application areas that are cohesively maintained on the substrate in a gapless, side-by-side formation in the presence of wet and/or dry binders. The substrate is subjected to a wetting agent that provides a better bind for the cosmetic slurries as they are printed onto their respective application area. The cosmetic compositions of each cosmetic application area may be different. Various cosmetic effects may be provided to end-users in a portable application.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2008Date of Patent: April 5, 2016Assignee: Aon Products, Inc.Inventors: Catholyn T. Publication number: 20080023025Abstract: A cosmetic sampler used for both the application of a cosmetic product and for the subsequent blending of the applied cosmetic product is disclosed. The cosmetic sampler is comprised of an applicator formed of a shaft with two opposing end sections. One of the end sections is coated (preferably saturated or impregnated) with at least one desired cosmetic product, for example eye shadow and/or face powder, while the other end section is clean and uncontaminated. An applicator that contains a pre-loaded cosmetic product (such as lipstick) on an end of the applicator, and that further comprises a top that is used to cover the sample cosmetic product and to also reverse to go on the other end to extend the handle is also disclosed. A preloaded applicator that contains a cosmetic product (such as powder) already on/in the surface of the applicator and that is also contained in a clear top pouch or bag is further disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 21, 2007Publication date: January 31, 2008Inventors: Thomas R. Patent number: 6688467Abstract: A cosmetic sampler package for a fluid product sample complies with postal regulations for subscription rate insertion in literature to be distributed through the U.S. Postal Service, and also provides a sampler unit having a transparent or translucent moisture vapor barrier layer substantially equivalent to that of a foil film. The product sampler is formed by sealing together top and bottom composite laminates to form a pouch for containing the product sample, and includes a window for viewing the product. The pouch shape includes a nozzle tip for controllably dispensing the product, and a perforated strip is cut across the nozzle so that the sampler can be easily opened. The sampler is affixed to a carrier card for insertion into a periodical, brochure or other literature. To protect the carrier card and the product, a sampling surface is provided on the carrier card under the nozzle so that the fluid product expelled from the opened pouch flows onto the sampling surface.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2002Date of Patent: February 10, 2004Assignee: Arcade Marketings, Inc.Inventors: Rudolf Krupka, Lucy A. Patent number: 6301860Abstract: A product sampler package for insertion or binding into a periodical, catalog, brochure, or other literature includes a composite carrier card formed by affixing a planar support frame to a bottom carrier sheet of the carrier card to thereby form a shallow well, and a top carrier sheet of the composite carrier card affixed to the bottom carrier sheet and covering the support frame. The top carrier sheet may have an opening positioned over the well so as to be surrounded by the support frame. The package is completed by affixing a product sampler unit containing a sample of a fluid or volatile personal care product on top of the composite carrier card. Packaged in this manner, the support frame enhances the burst strength of the sampler unit by absorbing compressive forces exerted across the plane of the sampler.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 1999Date of Patent: October 16, 2001Assignee: Color Prelude, Inc.Inventors: Anthony J. Patent number: 6119704Abstract: An applicator unit providing a plurality of disposable die cut applicators is made by adhering an applicator material to a backing substrate and die cutting the desired applicator shapes. A protective film is then adhered to the die cut applicator piece to protect the applicators from soilage or contamination. The applicator unit can easily be inserted into magazines, brochures, etc., along with a cosmetic sampler or a plurality of cosmetic samplers without adding substantial bulk to the carrier medium. In this manner, one applicator unit permits a consumer to sample from a plurality of cosmetic samplers and also to apply multiple applications of a cosmetic from a cosmetic sampler.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 1998Date of Patent: September 19, 2000Assignee: Color Prelude, Inc.Inventors: Henry Bouchat, Catholyn T. Griffiths, Anthony J. Gunderman
