  • Patent number: 8176192
Abstract: Disclosed is a networked transmission system and method for stream data. The system comprises a network, a streaming server and an ordered series of a first up to n-th cooperative-sharing groups. There is a cooperative relationship among all users' terminals in a cooperative-sharing group. The streaming server provides a plurality of programs with stream data, each program being divided into one or more audio/video clips by a time-slot unit. The streaming server transmits the one or more audio/video clips to the leader node of the first cooperative-sharing groups. The leader node of each cooperative-sharing group transmits the currently received audio/video clip to the users' terminals within the same cooperative-sharing group, and passes the received audio/video clip to the leader node of the next cooperative-sharing group after one time slot.

  • Patent number: 8050229
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus and method for IP mobility management for persistent connections. Without affecting the applications on the network domain, it provides for domain hand-off for a mobile node so that the mobile node can maintain the persistent connection. The mobility management apparatus may comprise a Mobility-Aware Socket module (MAS) and one or more mobility management servers. Each mobility management server communicates with a corresponding mobile node. When a mobile node roams from a first network domain to a second network domain, the mobile node and its target mobile nodes execute the MAS module to support the mobility management for persistent connections through their corresponding mobility management servers.

  • Publication number: 20090172180
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for transmitting streaming services. The system may comprise a service agent having a service list. The service list records the contact addresses and priority for one or more nodes that can provide streaming services. The priority for a node represents the level that the node belongs to a path for transmitting streaming data. When a client node requests the service agent for the nodes, wherein the nodes may provide a specific streaming service, the service agent searches for the service list and responds the search result to the client node. Therefore, the client node may get the streaming data directly from the nodes being found, and these nodes form a peer-to-peer network system.

  • Publication number: 20090138611
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for connection of host behind network address translators. The system includes a server placed in a public network, and a transparent middleware (TMW). The server records the related data between each host and one or more NAT devices. The TMW may be performed in each host. When a first host of a first NAT device tries to establish connection to a second host of a second NAT device, through the server, the TMW looks up a first IP address mapping from the first host to the second NAT device, and a second IP address mapping from the second host to the first NAT device. Accordingly, the TMW accomplishes the support for establishing connection between the first and the second hosts.
