  • Publication number: 20240091639
Abstract: The interactive theater system is executed on an interactive gaming computer (IG PC) configured to execute an interactive multi-player video game. The IG PC outputs a video stream to a display system, such as a projector and screen, which allows the players to view the multi-player video game. Each player sits in a multi-sensory seat for providing multi-sensory feedback to each player during execution of the interactive multi-player video game. The player provides input using an input device having an infrared camera and motion sensors. The infrared camera is used to image an infrared light arrangement positioned above-the multi-sensory seats. Infrared camera data and motion sensor data is used by the IG PC to accurately determine the real time position of each input device. Players in a first interactive theater system can compete with players in a second interactive theater system in real time.

  • Patent number: 11794121
Abstract: A high frame rate image system in a theme park attraction simultaneously displays images that are unique to each individual viewer. Although all viewers in a room or theater may be watching the same screen or area, they may see entirely different images. This allows the attraction to present more complex story narratives, and also allows the projected images to be matched to specific guests.

  • Patent number: 10857467
Abstract: A method for operating an entertainment attraction includes receiving an input selection from a guest relating to a characteristic of the attraction. The guest creates their guest profile, or by accesses their previously created profile stored in a memory. The profile may be changed by the current input selection made by the guest, with the changed profile stored for the guest's next use of the attraction. If the attraction is a ride, the guest is assigned to a viewing position, an active prop, a seat, or a vehicle of the attraction. The attraction is then operated with the input selection and/or the guest's profile influencing a characteristic of the attraction as perceived by the guest. A mobile application gameplay may unlock specified game features to change the attraction experience. The attraction may alternatively be a theater or game arcade type of attraction.

  • Publication number: 20200298133
Abstract: Various types of entertainment venues, including theme or amusement parks, game arcades, and similar venues are improved by providing a local server exchanging data with a cloud server. The local server controls and communicates with game or entertainment elements at the venue. The game or entertainment elements may be games at the location, input devices used by participants, such as smart phones, and/or audio and video devices. The cloud server controls and communicates with off-site elements. The cloud server and local server may communicate and synchronize data over the internet. The entertainment venue consequently can provide varying and evolving experiences through gamification.

  • Publication number: 20190270022
Abstract: A method for operating a ride attraction includes directing a rider to a kiosk or a mobile application on a smart phone, with the rider creating a character profile or accessing his/her previously created character profile. The rider is assigned to a ride vehicle or to a seat in a ride vehicle. The rider boards the into or onto the assigned vehicle or seat. The ride vehicle moves along a path in the ride attraction. At least one of the path, special effects, onscreen graphics and scoring may be modified according to the rider's character.

  • Patent number: 9540832
Abstract: An entertainment structure and apparatus principally comprising a 360-degree 2D and/or 3D cinematic theater. Seating for audience members is arrangeable on a circular motion base platform. A compound curved screen may lower from above to surround the theater upon a circular motion base platform, providing seamless media. A 2D/3D projection system is oriented within the structure to provide 2D/3D images on the screen through projection overlap for edge blending. A control system is used to rotate, pitch and roll the motion base platform. The control system can be synchronized with the media presentation. The structure includes a number of variations such as a variety of seating orientations, a stationary screen, a variety of screen configurations, and modular tracking seating.

  • Patent number: 8474191
Abstract: A motion simulator theater equipped with a passenger carrying apparatus. Passengers move into a boarding space where they board the passenger carrying apparatus, while the passenger carrying apparatus is in a first or boarding position. The theater may be designed so that when in the boarding space, the passengers see no indication that they are in a motion simulation theater. After the passengers have boarded, the carrying apparatus is moved into a second or viewing position, where passengers view 2D or 3D visual images displayed on a screen. This movement may be achieved by lifting or lowering the passenger carrying apparatus from cables or chains attached to a lifting system near the top of the theater. In this design, the movement is substantially vertical. The passenger carrying apparatus typically has multiple rows of seats, which may tilt front to back.

  • Patent number: 6254489
Abstract: An amusement attraction is housed within a building. The building contains several different settings. Each setting contains a variety of scenic elements. One setting acts as a pre-show and includes an audio-visual presentation. A second setting is designed to resemble a tornado-damaged building. A third setting contains various scenic elements designed to resemble an outdoor scene. In the third setting, a special effects show takes place that includes a man-made tornado. Other special effects are used to simulate the effect of the tornado on the scenic elements in the outdoor scene. Guests can safely view the man-made tornado from a guest viewing area.
